STRASBOURG, France – The European Court of Human Rights condemned Russia on Thursday for letting Moscow ban gay pride marches simply because the city's then-mayor — who famously compared gays to the devil — and other officials disapproved of them.
The binding ruling means that Russia must ensure gay parades are freely held in its cities, and requires the country to pay organizers of gay pride events euro29,510 ($41,300) for damages and court costs stemming from bans from 2006 to 2008.
The court is an arm of the Council of Europe, the continent's premier human rights watchdog and Russia is a member.

I can well see Russia returning to superpower status, ascending over the waning USA. And maybe this is what is deserved. When a nation tolerates evil, God removes His protection and favour. When a nation takes a stand, God will favour them.

But more realistically, I highly doubt the Russians are going to take seriously a joke court that hails from a continent that they half-conquered for 40 years.
The libs would be perfectly fine with that. These are the same “sex-positivist” people, after all, who argue for polygamy, “open” marriages, or even abolishing the institution of marriage altogether.
While I support freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, including gay pride parades, you’re right about all these international institutions being a joke. Funny, but I can’t think of a single thug who stopped being a dictator just because the UN told him to.
