CT health insurance hikes up to 47% (But hey, you'll still be able to keep your insurance !)
American Thinker ^ | 10/16/2010 | Rick Moran

Posted on 10/16/2010 11:24:13 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

You will be able to keep the insurance you already have - as long as you auction off your first born:

The state's largest insurer has been approved to raise health premium rates by 41 percent to 47 percent for some of its policies sold to individual buyers, in the largest price hikes yet seen in Connecticut since the adoption of national health care reform.

For all of its individual market plans, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has received approval to raise rates by at least 19 percent -- including a range of 30 percent to 44 percent for the brand of plans in the individual market that was most popular in 2009, Century Preferred.

The reason for the increases is the new federal health reform mandates, according to Anthem and the state Department of Insurance, which is defending its approval against charges by Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. Those reforms took effect Sept. 23.

"The reason for the increases is the new federal health reform mandates..."
B-b-b-b-but President said our insurance costs would go down if we passed his reform bill.

Obama said a lot of things to get the bill passed. Anyone who believed this charlatan when he said Republicans were lying about the effects of this bill deserves whatever they get from Obamacare. And now the only thing standing between us and this titanic boondoggle is probably the Supreme Court - a prospect that does not fill one with confidence.

And a bare majority want this mess repealed.

I thought Sebelius warned the big bad insurance companies not to raise rates.

I hate to say it but I’m laughing at all the left wing “middle class” who hate the rich and voted for obama. And to this day they won’t admit they made a mistake. The ones who’ve admitted it are the so called independent middle class.

What a mess that jackass has bestowed upon us.

Not even worth a read before getting a vote!

Piece by piece Obama is ripping apart the fabric of our free nation.

I took a double hit with my wife and I both being over 55 this year we had 5 company choices with 4 being around $2200- $2300 and one $1700 a month(BCBS) for a family of 3 with no health problems.

We increased the deductible to $10,000 and got it down to $1300 about what we were paying before,

Self employed so we pay the full vig on everything.

If taxes and mandated spending go up much more it will be interesting to see how much disposable income I will have left, if any.

No laughing here. Your insurance and my insurance rates are going to absolutely sky under this POS and it was as predictable as the sun rising in the east.

It’s like the difference between getting hosed by someone truly out to harm you; or by accident or by stupidity. The results are the same.

Also, please note that insurance, regardless of cost, isn’t access to health care.

And that access is the next thing to go.

You know that, and I know that, but the great masses of unwashed who support this travesty either don’t have the neural basis for thinking that far into the program, or do not bother.

I usually state it as follows: You can almost certainly park for free at a shut-down hospital.

Stop with the ‘horror of it’ entries. Remember that Dims lie as a way of life, then understand that everything intentionally leads you down the same path - Single Payer under Government control. If you cannot afford your existing supplier’s policy because your premium has risen 41% - tough! Take the Government scheme. And every complaint leads you down that wonderful path. Socialism, here we come because the capitalist alternative is too expensive or has been withdrawn.

Mine have already gone up. And this crum is going to let the tax cuts expire, too. He simply doesn’t care what the people want. The “so called” independents who elected this guy piss me off. They’re not independent. They’re stupid.
