California has become “the bow of the Titanic” to the rest of America.

It has slipped beneath the surface and will pull the rest of the country down — unless it “breaks off” from the rest of the ship, or is intentionally cut off beforehand.

It no longer matters whether the illegals are legalized or not. Within that time, their CHILDREN will have grown to voting age, and EVERY ONE of them is an ersatz American citizen. By “ersatz” I mean that although they may technically be “Americans”, many their loyalties are with someplace else, as is their culture and their language.

I think it’s safe to say that within 25-30 years California won’t be a part of America any more. It will have rejoined Mexico, or declared its independence from the rest of the USA to become the core of the New Atzlan Nation.

California is now the American Quebec.

And as a Californian, I can tell you they brought their liberal politics with them when they migrated here from New York and other points in the East. Barbara Boxer's from Brooklyn, Pelosi's from Baltimore, Pete Stark's a Milwaukee native, etc., etc. If we had only our home-grown wingnuts this would still be a Republican state.

Like national politics, the situation in California is, the Protestant vote which is conservative, against everyone else.

Best thing for Ca is for Brown to win. That way they will go down the crapper even faster! /s

Good point. Also total dem control doesn’t give them any excuses.

You are basically correct. I also live in CA and in the SF Bay Area (Silicon Valley). I’m a very conservative guy in a sea of liberal stupidity. Most Tech guys are apolitical or are liberal on social issues and fairly conservative on fiscal issue. Most are not liberal lunatics. But we are outnumbered by the loons. It’s such a struggle here with so many idiots all around me. SF is much worse and under no conditions could I live there.

Very profound analysis. I've come to the same conclusion myself. Demographics is destiny as they say. Things don't look good for the future of CA. California might not be part of the US in another 50 years or so. Or perhaps much sooner.

“If we had only our home-grown wingnuts this would still be a Republican state.”

you are right on there!

I’ve been saying over and over again that if California detractors would just convince their old neighbor, cousin, gay blade brother, or nutty aunt to just come home to Kansas, Jersey, New York, etc, California would go back to being a Republican state.....trouble is those wingnuts aren’t wanted back home either.......sigh!

So there are the near-sighted union and civil service workers, the voting illegal immigrants, the welfare recipients, the green (death to humans) party, the leftist (down with America) revolutionaries. It’s America’s nuthouse, our asylum, our place of remedial learning, our place of truly selfish, self-absorbed, self-centered beings.

People say things like this as if there aren't any of these types of people in the rest of the country. I laugh at that idea. The reason California has so many of the country's idiots is because California is a really nice place to live in terms of weather and geography and it also has the largest economy in the union, so its where the money is. The reason that places like North Dakota and Kansas don't have quite the same problem with liberals is because there hasn't been a mass migration into those states due to their, eh, challenging conditions. But guess what? Plenty of liberal idiots are being manufactured in your state, but probably shipped here later on. Thanks for nothing.

I didn't mean to imply that all the nuts originated in California, or that everyone in California is nuts, or that my state doesn't have nuts, or that some of the nuts in California didn't come from my state. (See my reply #34) But... however they got there, the majority of voters in California seem to show questionable judgment.

Do you disagree with that?

I am mindful of the fact that FreeRepublic originates from California, so obviously I don't think everyone there is nuts.

Oh, we are all nuts! There is, however, subclasses of nuts. There are those who are too crazy to entrust your goldfish to. And there are those who are too crazy to leave!

Let's not forget that California is the land of Ronald Reagan. I've been in almost every state in America and recently moved here - not for political reasons. There are quite a few good people here and there is a strong Tea Party movement here too.

So, folks. Let's not be ignorant. California is part of America. Let's wish only good upon our whole country. If you are a person of faith. Pray that enough Californians see the light and vote to return to good American roots.

In case you haven't noticed, Free Republic is based in California.

I am a Californian and DAMN PROUD OF IT!

The problem in California is the liberal moronic transplants who came from (fill in the name of YOUR state) and decided to take control. You should appreciate that your gain is our loss. Show a little sympathy for those of us in the rural parts of the state who have had to endure.

I'm new here, identify with you and like what you wrote, but would make just one edit to update us to the 21st century...

The widespread consumption of "medical marijuana" in California.

Well, they’re doing that, too; but our own liberal tripe is rotting us from the inside. AND California was usually their destination. :-(

Yep, the first thing they do is start complaining because they don’t have free this and free that in their newly ‘adopted’ state. A lot of “well, the way we did it in California was ...”.

Locals should sport bumper stickers and lapel pins saying, “If CA was so great, why didn’t you stay there?”

the CA migrants take liberal politics with them to CO, AZ, TX, and even WY.

Good news!

Let hope the leftist liberals continue to flee California.

“Is the U.S. Insane?

Temporary insanity caused by the stars aligning to create a perfect atmosphere for the BS he was pitching. People have sobered up, opened their eyes and are horrified to see the butt ugly beast they slept with in their drunken stupor. Nov. 2nd won't be a happy day for the butt ugly beast (Obama).
