Colorado Has 11,800 Listed Non-Citizen Voters

Nearly 12,000 registered voters in Colorado are listed as non-U.S. citizens, the secretary of state's office says.

Gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo of the American Constitution Party has long campaigned for tougher immigration laws and enforcement. He said he was stunned by the non-citizen listings.

"I want to know why they are not required to fill in the box. That in itself should be a felony," Tancredo said.

State Rep. Kent Lambert, a Republican from Colorado Springs, said he and other Republicans have tried to change state law to require proof of citizenship -- which has been ruled legal by the U.S. Supreme Court -- but Democrats have blocked them for the past five years.

Let the cheating begin. We have to be very diligent in watching and reporting fraud. Liberals are masters at it because it is what they do best, cheat - lying coming in at a nose.

Not much good catching them cheating -
there has never been, in my memory, an election overturned
due to proof of voter fraud.

The headline is dishonest.

They're listed as "non-citizens" only because they failed to check a box on the registration form.

One might legitimately ask why a voter could register without fully completing the form.

However, "voters also must sign a document saying they are U.S. citizens." So, in effect, the box on the form is redundant.

Non-issue.

Unfortunate. Maybe a new day will come. At least uncovering it will let the masses know, once again, what deficits of character liberals have.

Good grief. How many elections in Colorado have been decided by fewer than 11,000 votes? Seems to me like someone has a lawsuit here. Of course the logical last minute remedy for this is to required the people who couldn’t manage to check a box to display proof of citizenship at the polls in order to vote. But that would make too much sense.

“The headline is dishonest...Non-issue.”

Colorado government agencies have been caught breaking laws in order to give benefits to illegal immigrants, so the possibility of something illegal happening here as well is not a ‘non-issue’ to be dismissed out of hand...

“Colorado pays illegal immigrants unemployment insurance because a director at the state agency that cuts the checks eliminated a key tool designed to prevent payments from going to unqualified residents...”

Their applications for registration should have bee tossed when received by the BOE. They supposedly do that here, but I live in a conservative county.

But as a practical matter it is a non-issue.

Voters are already required to sign an affadavit of citizenship -- it has exactly the same effect as checking the box on the registration form.

I think we can agree that the voter registration form must be filled out in its entirety in order to be valid -- that's a procedural change that ought to be put in place now.

As to your examples -- they have nothing to do with voter registration.

Ech! What kind of sick mind says that it's "fascist" or "racist" if non-citizens don't get to vote in elections? What if Americans got to vote in elections in Mexico or South Africa?

Gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo of the American Constitution Party has long campaigned for tougher immigration laws and enforcement. He said he was stunned by the non-citizen listings.

I hope this isn't the JBS-front, anti-Israel, "palaeo" Constitution Party.

Not much good catching them cheating-

Although the elections might not be overturned, catching them cheating, then prosecuting, convicting, and sentencing the guilty parties to jail terms will have a significant deterrent effect in the future. But of course the 'Rat politicians will be kicking and screaming if that were the policy. Too bad!

Another way for the good folks in Colorado to minimize this problem would be to elect Republicans as governor, state legislators, and secretary of state. The same holds true for all states.

Thanks to Tom Tancredo for exposing this scandal.

Every youth group, religious organization, etc... is having walks, bake-sales, etc... for the “same-old” charities. All worthy, no doubt.

But, if someone is looking for a new and different sort of charity / community project - go to your local Board of Elections, and search out the dead voters, moved voters, felon voters, etc.... Voter records are public info. Just needs some simple investigation and cross checking with other sources, and leg work
