“The cartel boss — Miguel Treviño — is highly upset over the fact that these individuals shot and killed Mr. Hartley and it's our understanding that the cartel boss is hunting for the killers of Mr. Hartley so he can take care of them himself,” said Fred Burton, STRATFOR's vice president of intelligence.

Riiiggght.

And decapitating an investigator???? That was an "oopsie" moment also?

Either way, an innocent American is dead and nothing is done about it.

Would this “global intelligence company” happen to be the bleeding-heart, Socialist, left-wing nutjob Democratic Party?

Build a cordon sanitaire around the region then drain the lake. These pukes gotta’ come out some time and just shoot them down.

There is so much wrong with this 'defense' I don't know where to begin.

Do they really....I mean...really....think we're that stupid!

““The cartel boss — Miguel Treviño — is highly upset...”

...I expect that he is...really. This kind of stuff is bad for business...but I bet he’s not so upset that he would give the widow say $5 million in compensation.

“was a case of mistaken identity”... that’s one of many possible scenarios.

Hartley’s body likely was destroyed...
Our understanding that the cartel boss is hunting for the killers of Mr. Hartley...
the beheading... was a stern signal..

No facts presented just a lot of conjecture.

She said she raced to U.S. shores without her husband...
gunfire trailing her well across the U.S. line.

So, was she mistaken for a rival 'spy'?

the death of U.S. citizen David Michael Hartley on Falcon Lake was a case of mistaken identity in a turf war between rival drug cartels.

Oh well, I guess that makes it all right then. Let's move on.

They will probably never find the body. The cartels have various ways of making sure there is nothing left. They have things that look human that work for them that think nothing of taking a body apart and feeding it to vultures, for example. They take the body and stake it down by the neck, cut the flesh open and then let the vultures pick everything away down to the skeleton. After that they grind the bones up until there is nothing left.

“Once Hartley was identified as an American, his body was destroyed the same day as the incident to prevent a backlash from the U.S. government against the group,” the report states.

From THIS U.S. government??? Oh, please... they really have no need to worry.

“...a stern signal to both the United States and Mexico that no body will be produced and to leave the situation alone.”
In other words the cartel is in charge here. Time to send a stern signal to the contrary.

A cover up from the white house..

I do not believe for one minute this story..The fact is these savages are telling people to stay away and it has happened before them shooting at people, there is no telling how many Americans they have killed and and no one knows ..Has anyone noticed that Obama has not said a word against the filthy Mexicans that murdered this young man or about this for that matter..I have not heard one word from him(maybe someone else has)..It is like nothing happened according to Washington..I think Obama is afraid his pay check will go away from the drug dealers if he says a thing..Like he doesn't say anything against the Muslim terrorist and he says nothing about the murdering filthy Mexican drug dealers..

But Republican politicians including Perry and U.S. Sen. John Cornyn say the incident instead should be seen as a failure of the Obama administration to secure the nation's southern border.

Long past time for the front-line states on our southern border to coalesce their National Guard forces and get the job done, and tell the meddling feds to either help out or f*** off. This has gone on far too long!

Well, if the Zetas are taking care of it, we can just sit back. Justice will be done. /s

On the other hand, if we had a real president, it would be time for the Deltas to turn the Zetas Tango Uniform.

What struck me was the the statment

“His report concludes “halcones,” or Zeta scouts, noticed Mexican tags on the trailer towing the Hartley’s personal watercraft, mistook them as spies for the rival Gulf Cartel and sent radio messages buzzing across the lake. “

The cartle had spies on the lake, the cartels have mountain top spotters near Fenix (AZ) to monitor drugs/human shipments and to warn of police activity.

That level of planning/activity should scare the avg American.

Back in 1979, I went on a geology field trip to Big Bend. One guy said we should cross the border and eat some real Mexican food. We all thought that would be great. So, we headed toward the border. As we were proceeding through customs, (it was a very small border crossing) we found out that it was election day in Mexico so no one could buy beer. We decided to not cross and eat dinner in Mexico.

Ah, the good old days.
