Democrats have spent months pumping millions into the Pennsylvania airwaves, but Republicans are dropping into the state this week to support Senate nominee Pat Toomey.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee announced its first ad of the cycle Wednesday on behalf of Toomey, who has been leading Democrat Joe Sestak in every public poll for months.

Ain't it sweet of the GOP establishment to get on board with a conservative candidate this late in the game? Sestak's ads still outnumber Toomey's by about 2:1 in our market. It is said to be the most expensive media campaign in the country on behalf of any RAT senate candidate.

The fact that Pat has been able to keep a small but steady lead all these months speaks volumes for how well he has run his campaign.

If anyone in PA wants to help with phone calls or mail drops, please go to Toomey’s website and contact the closest Victory Center to make calls or help pass out literature.

Hey, let's applaud the NRSC for getting involved at "crunch time" rather than lament they didn't get involved sooner. They've certainly had their issues this cycle, and are due for a change of leadership and direction, but don't beat them up when they're doing the right thing for a change.

Amen, dirtboy. We're badly understaffed in Greensburg, Westmoreland County. The number is 724-836-0570 to sign up for a shift.

And with the phone banks being only 40% occupied at any given time, we welcome drop-ins who can spare only an hour or two as well.

As an added bonus, there is a jar of quarters to feed the parking meters and some great food being brought in by supporters as well.

There is a risk that the Pubbie message is different than Tommey’s. If that occurs, the extra money could acutally hurt him. He’s winning because he is neither a RAT nor a RINO.

This is a good example of waste in government - with four or five close races - CA. WA. DE. etc etc they could spend where it helps. No sense of good spending plans - in DC or in elections. Throw them out!!!
