Groups protest voter fraud ads
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ^ | October 12, 2010 | Georgia Pabst

Several community groups Tuesday condemned billboards throughout Milwaukee that warn "Voter Fraud is a Felony," saying they are an attempt by right-wing sources to intimidate and suppress minority voting.

At a press conference in front of one of the billboards at S. 22nd St. and W. Morgan Ave., the groups called on Clear Channel Outdoor, the owner of the billboards, to take down the ads and disclose who paid for them.

The bottom of the billboards, which show people behind jail bars, the words "We Voted Illegally" and the penalty for voting illegally, disclose only that the billboards were paid for "by a private family foundation."

"We're tired of these tactics and signs like these that keep various groups from participating," said Jayme Montgomery-Baker, state director of the League of Young Voters. "There are so many other issues we should be talking about, like jobs, education and health care."

Those danged billboards can cut down on recruitment, which could be the real reason these groups don't like them.

Only a Democrat could say that telling people that illegal voting is voter “intimidation”.

We’ve died and gone to Orwellian Bizarro Planet.

“We're tired of these tactics and signs like these that keep various groups from participating,”

Declaring voter fraud a felony keeps WHO from “participating”?

Thank you. When you first contemplate one of the Dems’ usual circular arguments, the ridiculousness of it makes your head want to explode.

The only "group" these signs would keep from participating are people who would vote illegally.

If they're complaining about it, that means it's working.

Leftists/Democrats oppose anything that can diminish voter fraud.

Their reasons are obvious. Voter fraud is one of their main means of achieving their objectives--and of electing Democrats.

EXPECT MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD FAVORING DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES in the upcoming November elections.

That's the real joker in the deck--and the real reason why the outcome of the elections is hard to predict.

I think this protest is a fine start. As an American citizen, I feel intimidated by signs that order me “Not to drive drunk”, “Buckle up for safety”, “Speeding fines doubled in work areas”, “Local water usage ban”, “Don’t TEXT while driving”, and other public warnings about things that are done by so many people.
To be constantly warned that what I am doing MAY be against the law is quite disturbing. Now cut it out.
( If YOU agree with the above, seek help ASAP)

This is the next major fight - securing the integrity of the vote.

The only problem I have with the billboard is that I would bet a BUNCH of money that you couldn’t find ONE person in a federal penitentiary that is there for vote fraud.

So Obamunist thugs can threaten and intimidate them.

Just following what their “thug in chief” is doing with the Chamber of Commerce.

Demanding to know who’s paying/funding them so that they can be demonized and threatened.

Truly a thugocracy. This is something we need to keep in mind - vote like your LIFE depends on it, because it does.

Security cameras are an attempt by right-wing sources to intimidate and suppress minority shopping.

Orwell was a prophet:
"War is peace!"

"Love is hate!"

"Freedom is slavery."

But he didn't see quite far enough:
"CRIMINALIZING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS RACISM!"

"CRIMINALIZING VOTER FRAUD IS VOTER INTIMIDATION."

LOL!

Keep them from participating??

What do they think the billboards do, run in front of them and fling themselves in front of the doorway?

So the whine is that there are other more important issues than voting illegally.

IMHO, there is NOTHING more important than stopping voter fraud and I applaud the billboards.

Where are the minority groups protesting that the protest against the billboards is racist.
