How evil was Ted Kennedy? Shocking new details have emerged, now that the man himself is dead.
While many conservatives realized that Ted Kennedy's was a morally compromised man (his record of walking away from Mary Jo Kopechne as she suffocated in an air bubble inside his Oldsmobile clinched the case), America's major media studiously ignored the incident, and many others, in order to preserve the luster of the Kennedy name, and to aid him in his role as the liberal "lion of the Senate."

And always thought Teddy was only guilty of involuntary manslaughter and obstruction of justice with Mary Jo. Now it looks like it might have been murder.

I guess to quiet these rumors, they’d just have to dig up the body, and see if she was carrying a child.

It always pained me to see conservatives give him legitimacy. Instead of lending him friendly support and the frank advice to grow up, Orrin Hatch should have helped him score and encouraged him to add smack to his intake.

I doubt it was murder. It was just too sloppy, and ruined Kennedy’s reputation and chances for becoming president. Senator or not, this was a drag on him. I just can’t see anyone premeditating a murder like this. I think they’re capable of it, just wouldn’t do it this way.

Just wondering was the ever any information released about Teddy’s “injuries” that he supposedly received during the car accident? We all know of the fake cervical collar that he wore for a few weeks after the crash. Anything offical though, directly from the hospital?

Premeditation can happen in a flash - like deciding to leave a young woman who’s just told you she’s pregnant to suffocate in a partially-submerged car.

I always thought Teddy was not much of a man.
Not much of a Human Being.
A low life.
But I always felt that Mary Jo’s parents were bought off.
If they were they were even lower than Teddy Kennedy.

That’s not exactly premeditation. That’s taking advantage of an accident, almost like a crime of passion.

I guess to quiet these rumors, theyd just have to dig up the body, and see if she was carrying a child. The Kennedys have used all their power and influence to see that this hasn't been done, and the Kopechnes themselves have abetted them in the effort.

I don’t think that the article said or tried to imply that this was a premeditated murder in order to kill Koepechne and Kennedy’s baby. It is saying that his cowardice and failure to try to get help for her is even more contemptible and disgusting than we realized.

But Orin Hatch “hearts” Teddy Kennedy. And how could that be unless Teddy was a good and decent man?/sarc

When you consider how much air there was in the car, it seems likely that Ted got out of the car before it went off the bridge.

I saw a documentary that pretty well laid out that Kennedy wasn't in the car when it went off the bridge. People saw him at the party after he left with Mary Jo and no body noticed he was wet and he didn't mention the accident. Then he went to the dock and swam back to the hotel he was staying at. Kennedy acted normal the next day. The theory was that Kennedy and Mary Jo were getting it on when the sheriff's or a deputy drove by. Kennedy sent Mary Jo to the dock to catch the ferry. She got confused and ran off the bridge. Kennedy lied and the lie looked like a cover up. It wasn't until the next day around 9 or 10 am he realized she had died. There was a beach house close by with it's light on and a multitude of opportunities for him to save her and his reputation but he got stuck in a lie!

About here parents could it have any thing to do with her parents religious belief’s that she was not given an autopsy? It seems to me that was talked about at the time but then again that was over 40 years ago and I was young and could have faulty memory.
