Blackout 2010
IVoters Forums ^ | 10/7/10 | Reagan W

Posted on 10/07/2010 9:31:58 PM PDT by Paul Kib

Sorry there's no article, but someone posted a link to this group on a forum today. I live in Ohio and haven't heard a word about it in the local media...

Has anyone heard about this cause? Why hasn't the media covered this in-depth? Blackout2010...

..."Because many African-Americans believe their votes, their families and their interests have been taken for granted by Democratic leadership over the past thirty years.

THE STRATEGY. Through the use of extensive earned media coverage, viral and social marketing through the internet, rallies, direct mail, media and other initiatives, the goal is to persuade tens of thousands of African-American voters not to vote in the [OH]Governor's race.

THE RESULTS. According to Vice-Chairman Mark Herron of Warren, Ohio, "this is a wake-up call".. Although he sees this as a benefit to the Republican party, he states emphatically that "African-Americans in Ohio can't be any worse off than we are now". [emphasis mine]

From the Atlanta Post story: "Revolutions act as decontaminants to the immune systems of governments and are necessary to the function of a healthy democracy. Revolutions, however, are never televised. We should’ve known when we saw Barack Obama on Oprah that he wasn’t the real deal. Wow.

This is a new one on me...although I did see that they’re keeping the polls open an extra day exclusively for African Americans. Avoid the long lines on Tuesday and just wait until Wednesday. Lucky!

Can I quote Senator Jay Billing Bullworth (D-CA)

Angry black woman: Are you sayin’ the Democratic Party don’t care about the African-American community?

Bullworth: Isn’t that OBVIOUS? You got half your kids are out of work and the other half are in jail. Do you see ANY Democrat doing anything about it? Certainly not me! So what’re you gonna do, vote Republican? Come on! Come on, you’re not gonna vote Republican! Let’s call a spade a spade!
[Loud, angry booing]
Bullworth: I mean - come on! You can have a Billion Man March! If you don’t put down that malt liquor and chicken wings, and get behind someone other than a running back who stabs his wife, you’re NEVER gonna get rid of somebody like me!

"Because many African-Americans believe their votes, their families and their interests have been taken for granted by Democratic leadership over the past thirty years. "

Step and fetch another box of ballots, and be glad it's not cotton.

There is NO excuse for keeping the Polls open an extra day for anybody. In OHIO we have early voting and Absentee Ballots. I just voted and mailed mine in today. I’m getting pretty damn weary of all this “making it easy for Blacks”—We should all be treated the same re the Elections. If they are too lazy to go to the Polls (or for whatever reason), there’s still time to get an Absentee Ballot via the US Mail. That goes for anyone—Black, White or whatever Nationality if they’re a legal American Citizen!

1st: Truthhound's post was satire.

2nd: Black is not a nationality. White is not a nationality.

3rd: You made me laugh!

In many ways that scene reflected some hard truths.
It was funny and yet sadly true in many ways.
