The waivers have been issued in the last several weeks as part of a broader strategic effort to stave off threats by some health insurers to abandon markets, drop out of the business altogether or refuse to sell certain policies.

Government by waiver is not government by rule of law—it is ruling by whim and favor.

I believe this is all part of the plan. By now, the “ruling” class knows that any government involvement in business leads to screw-ups which the government then has to “ride to the rescue” to “fix” ... and ultimately, when government meddling causes something from the business sector to no longer be viable, guess who “rides to the rescue” to “fix” the problem?

“If they wanted to exclude mini-meds, they would have excluded mini-meds,” said Timothy S. Jost, a law professor at Washington & Lee University who has been working with state regulators on these issues.

Well - if they knew what the hell they were doing, or were at all concerned about anything other than advancing their totalitarian agenda, the would have.

Exactly. The squeakiest wheel, or whoever has the best lobbyists, or the most influence, gets a better deal. It's a stunningly corruptible process.

Obama’s grand socialist experiment for America is an Epic FAIL.... Repeal it now before any real and lasting damage is done.
