BROWNSVILLE Brownsville Police Chief Carlos Garcia says the border violence has officially crossed over into the Valley. Two Tamaulipas men were assassinated inside a truck Friday. The chief of police says the investigation has led them to believe this wasnt a crime committed by someone in the US. This was a hit ordered by the cartel, he says. Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos isnt surprised to see spillover violence in Brownsville. He says, it was a matter of time before it trickled down to our community.
Residents say they didn't think it would become a reality. One woman who wanted to conceal her identity says witnessing a crime...could be very dangerous. "If an innocent family would have been passing by and seen that they would have been the next target," said one woman. She worries about future violence and is considering moving out of the Valley.
Cascos advises everyone to be cautious and more aware of their surroundings.

Well, they DO have to vote in our election next month......
So it begins...
I keep hearing that this is “drug crime”. It’s organized crime violence. Doesn’t matter the product. They traffic in death and sexual slavery too.
Our own nation had a serious problem with organized crime. It still exists but does not get coverage the way it did once upon a time. And gangsters are still treated as hip celebrities in the popular media mythmaking.
The corruption can be everything from securing goverment contracts and kickbacks to murder for hire to buying judges and law enforcement protection.
open borders ping
Impeach the islamist!
Exactly what happens when you just look away at evil...and also participate in it by allowing your next of kin to come across the border freely to do their business. The are all over the south and southwest and have been for some time. Austin just had a feature on last nights news about the drug crimes moving in from Mexico.
Some will take jobs as roofers, maids, landscapers, etc. and know who and where to hit! Many just let new ones work for them as cheap labor.
We MUST stop all immigration for a few years just to catch up with the ilk we have here if we are to survive. Can’t bring family in either. DC is drugged and as scared as border citizens.
This is just so inconvenient!! After all, there’s a LAWSUIT to push against Arizona! They are GUILTY, I say! Guilty for the despicable act of... um... trying to prevent this very thing from happening.
PROBLEM: Border Violence Has Offically Crossed Over onto US soil
SOLUTION: Landmine the borders.
The cartel-related killings — or at least the REPORTED ones — have just started happening, but they’ve occupied ever-increasing parts of our Southwest for years.
There's plenty of blame to go around but a large share of this is due to Ted Kennedy's advocacy of that vile "Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965". On the floor of the U.S. Senate he promised (or actually lied):
...our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, the act will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area...
Realizing this may inflame some FReepers leaning libertarian, I'd like to see the "JohnsonReed Act" of 1924 reenacted. It was authored by two Republican representatives and signed by Calvin Coolidge, one of the two most Conservative presidents in history. In my opinion, we have a right to control who we allow into our nation, including those who wish to become "legal" citizens.
Young people may not realize that the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas was once a nice place. Tom Landry was from there and, a few decades ago, non-Hispanic whites weren't the tiny minority they are today.
Too bad there are so many fellow-traveling marxist judges who will halt ANY effort on our part to stop this from happening. Soon we’ll see media outlets down there begging for direction from the cartel gangs so they can protect themselves.
One big reason I hope that evil bastard Ted Kennedy is burning in the depths of hell.
“I keep hearing that this is drug crime. Its organized crime violence. Doesnt matter the product. They traffic in death and sexual slavery too.”
Good point. The Mexican government always blames the USA for ALL of their problems. They say that the USA is a nation of drug addicts who sell automatic weapons, grenades, and anti tank weapons on street corners. I would not be suprised if the human smuggling and MANY OTHER CRIMES bring more money to Mexico than drugs. Screw them!
Another “word choice” to consider, you may hear illegal aliens called “undocumented workers”.
Except they are not undocumented. They obtain FALSIFIED documentation (driver’s licenses, voter registration, social security numbers, etc).
Identity theft is an increasing problem in this country and clearly plenty of politicians and law enforcement agents believe we can “absorb” a wave of stolen identities just as we can “aborb” a terrorist attack.
Works for me.
It was so easy for Ted Kennedy to advocate unfettered immigration from the luxury of his lily-white suburban Boston home or his enclave in Hyannis Port. He never had to pay the cost in such protected environments.
With apologies to Indian (feather not dot) FReepers, I once saw a pithy statement to the effect of:
"The Indians get more noble the further away you get."
As for the Mexicans deluging Texas and other Southwestern states, my colleagues in the upper midwest (where the county population breakouts are largely in the 95% white range) just can't seem to understand why we Texans are rightfully concerned about the changing face of our state.
Perhaps it is because stolen ID has a hidden side which never gets reported in proper prespective because it doesn’t show up on credit card receipts. ID theft is at the heart of illicit political contributions, as the hundreds of millions ‘donated’ to Obama’s campaign in ‘08 and the DNC coffers showed, without being prosecuted at all!
This country sucks.
