Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski is taking on the tea party in her latest advertisement to boost her write-in campaign.
Murkowski blames the Tea Party Express for her GOP primary defeat to attorney Joe Miller last month: The well-funded conservative group, based in Sacramento, Calif., spent almost $600,000 on a negative ad blitz against the senator.
In the latest advertisement, Murkowski supporters criticize the Tea Party Express for influencing the outcome of the GOP primary.
Wait, the Tea Party Express? Isnt that the same California group that dumped half a million into Joe Millers campaign? a man on the street says in the ad. This is my chance and Alaskas chance to get our senator back, says another woman.
The Tea Party Express announced this week that it will return to Alaska to campaign on Millers behalf. The Expresss lead consultant, Sal Russo, confirmed to POLITICO Wednesday that the group will start airing radio advertisements soon and send staff to the state as soon as this weekend.
The Murkowski ad is one of a pair of spots released Thursday intended to teach voters how to fill out a write-in ballot and spell the senators name correctly. The other television advertisement, Spelling Clinic 101, takes place in a classroom, where students are tested on how to spell Murkowski.

“Even if it is close, every misspelling will be thrown out.”
Do you not remember the hanging chad fiasco? Dems evaluating the ballots would accept busj and award it to Kerry. The fraud in those situations would be funny if it wasn’t so bad.
Excellent ad with top-notch edit quality. Which begs the question: which political ad firm produced it? If a Republican firm, they should be blacklisted. If a Democrat firm, that should be exposed to Alaskans.
She should be charged with Impersonating a Kennedy.
SEAHAG
Did they spend a dime to focus group test this ad?
Murkowski is doing nothing but showing what a sore loser she is. She must have gotten everything she wanted growing up.
Good idea, Lisa. Attack the activists. That’ll work.
We need some “MurCowski” signs!
Ironic, considering Moocowskee took appx. $3M from sources outside Alaska over the last 6 years.
For that, she'd also need to have a blood alcohol content north of .30.
Wow...that sounds like...Joe Miller’s Next Ad...
Yeah, someone with better skills than I should confirm it first, though. This all presumes I was reading the info from OpenSecrets correctly.
The ad is very clever - you just see it if you don’t live here in Alaska.
Why?
There is still a *lot* of resentment that the Dems dumped $5.5 Million in attack ads on Ted Stevens. Outside money and all that.
The ad also overlooks the fact that most of Lisa’s war chest dough came from Outside.
You used to see bumper stickers all over
“I don’t give a damn how they do it Outside
This is Alaska”
Not seen a lot lately....
Not so. The initial opinion issued by the Lt Gov is that misspellings will count. The state is in the process of deciding exactly what will count. It's better to have it hashed out ahead of time then to have a gigantic charlie foxtrot at counting time, although my prediction is that there still be one.
BTW,
Who’s money is she spending to run this ad, and where is it coming from?
If she lost the primary, does she still have access to RNC money? Does she still have that much left in her campaign coffers?
If the RNC is helping her, heads should roll.
Even if it is close, every misspelling will be thrown out.

I wish that was correct but I don’t think it is. If the intent is obvious, the Election Judge can count it. If the Election Judge throws it out, it will be contested and end up being counted.
She had well over a million at the end of the primary. Chicken feed for an incumbent.
seems the response would be an
I am the tea party
with american after american making tht statement.
