Grayson's 'Taliban Dan' ad takes Webster's words out of context, twists meaning

In an attack ad labeling his opponent " Taliban Dan" Webster, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson uses Webster's own words to prove the Republican thinks wives should be subservient to their husbands.

One problem: The Grayson campaign edited the original video, chopping it up and taking Webster's words out of context. Webster actually was advising husbands to bypass those particular Bible passages, according a longer video clip released Monday by Webster's campaign.

But by twisting Webster's words, Grayson risks eroding some of the support he may have won from independent voters.

Good to see the Sentinel come out against Grayson.
Would have been better if anyone actually read the Sentinel.

Let us cut to the facts, this was not a mischaracterization, this was using carefully chosen snippets of sound to LIE, LIE & LIE. Using the same technique I could have Rep.Grayson denouncing Obama, joining the Republicans and anything else that might meet my fantasy.

This goes far beyond the usual campaign rhetoric and needs to be clearly defined as such! The choice for District 8 is simple, you have one candidate who has demonstrated that he has no compunction in lying to retain office. This being the case, what prevents him from lying to any of his other constituents!

I get ill watching Grayson speak, he reminds me of a food processor with the top off. He is detestable.

This has been the top story here for the last two days. Most of the reports are very negative to Grayson (as they should be!).

The only bad report I've seen was on the Brighthouse Cable new (News 13), where they refused to play the videos, and presented it as a "he said, he said" story.

I wrote to complain to the station, and they (of course) said that they were being "fair".

The email did mention that they will have both candidates on their political analysis show "The Agenda" this weekend. Anyone who has Brighthouse cable in central Florida and is interested in this race may want to watch.
