Wonderful. Replace them with people who WANT to do it, not do it grudgingly.

The article says they backed down so his veto wouldn't be overridden.

That was a good thing, it allowed the clinics to have funds cut off.

Republicans in the legislature backed down

Besides the governor, there are very few pro-life Republicans in statewide office in NJ.

The NJ GOP is more or less the definition of country club Republicanism, and in comparison the governor looks like a right winger.

The success of his governorship and the possibility of a Tea Party-driven Congressional upset in the 6th district will start to embolden actual NJ conservative Republicans.
