I could maybe understand ridiculing another Freeper for not knowing something IMPORTANT, like what the U.S. Constitution says about this or that, but ridiculing another FReeper (or anybody, for that matter) for not knowing the name of a creature from a pop culture movie made 35 years ago is tacky, rude and childish.

I don’t think it was an attack on your post at all :-)! I just think they were amused by someone not knowing what a wookie is, that’s all. I doubt they were laughing at you. I personally refer to the First Lady as a “Grue”, but I also prefer other forms of fiction ;-).
I did like your response though. I loved Star Wars, but I know of some people that live, breathe, and eat that universe up and I feel for them :-)! You would have given them a heart attack :-)!
Plus, there have been 6 star wars movies, the latest “revenge of the sith: was released in 2005, and that's not even counting offshoots like “clone wars” that are running on TV currently.
Seriously, I can't imagine anyone born after 1960 that wouldn't know what a wookie was.
