Last Friday, I dissected Harry Reids cap-and-gown illegal alien amnesty i.e., the DREAM Act amendment to the defense authorization bill up for a vote this week.
Last Wednesday, I warned you about the shamnesty Republicans who have voted and sponsored past DREAM Act nightmares.
The open-borders lobby is out in full force to get the illegal alien student bailout passed. The NYT this morning pleads with the McCain/Soros Republican wing of the party to come back to the DREAM Act fold. Alinskys avenging angels are pounding the pavement, staging rowdy sit-ins, and shutting down traffic to get what they want.
As the Socialist Worker Online puts it: They are undocumented and unafraid.
What are you doing to make your voice heard?
Via Roy Beck at NumbersUSA, heres a handy phone list of Senate fence-sitters, flip-floppers, and feckless sellouts.

Sen. Brown of Massachusetts
...this guy is turning out to be a stealth RINO”
Didn’t we know he was a RINO??? It was no secret...he was just the ‘lesser of the two evils’. Have you noticed, every time we do that, we always wind up with a liberal?
From Mike Cutler:
I want you to read the eligibility requirement for an illegal alien to participate in the Dream Act:
(B) the alien has been a person of good moral character since the time of application;
(C) the alien
(i) is not inadmissible under paragraph (2), (3), (6)(E), or (10)(C) of section 212(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)); and
(ii) is not deportable under paragraph (1)(E), (2), or (4) of section 237(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a));
(D) the alien, at the time of application, has been admitted to an institution of higher education in the United States, or has earned a high school diploma or obtained a general education development certificate in the United States;
(E) the alien has never been under a final administrative or judicial order of exclusion, deportation, or removal, unless the alien
(i) has remained in the United States under color of law after such order was issued; or
(ii) received the order before attaining the age of 16 years; and
(F) the alien had not yet reached the age of 35 years on the date of the enactment of this Act.
Check out that last line again:
(F) the alien had not yet reached the age of 35 years on the date of the enactment of this Act.
You cannot make this up!
The Dream Act would provide a pathway to illegal aliens who are 34 years old!
Is there anyone who could, with a straight face, tell me where in the world would a 34 year old person be considered a Child?!
And it gets even worse!
For aliens who are otherwise ineligible to receive the benefits of this bill there is a waiver built in.
Here is the waiver:
2) WAIVER- Notwithstanding paragraph (1), the Secretary of Homeland Security may waive the ground of ineligibility under section 212(a)(6)(E) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and the ground of deportability under paragraph (1)(E) of section 237(a) of that Act for humanitarian purposes or family unity or when it is otherwise in the public interest.

ACTION: The following list is of Senators who have shown a real proclivity toward amnesty but seem to have remained uncommitted. Under the pressure of the impending November elections, some of these Senators could be persuaded to vote NO.
I would emphasize with them that a controversial bill like this has no business being put inside a Defense bill, regardless of how they may feel about the amnesty itself.

SENATORS WHO ARE CO-SPONSORING THE DREAM AMNESTY
Once you have done what you can with phone calls to the Senators on the lists above, you should look through this list to see who is causing all this problem by pushing so hard to give 2 million more permanent work permits to illegal aliens to compete with 22 million American and legal immigrant workers who cant find a job.
You can reach these through the Switchboard at 202-224-3121 or in our Congress directory (I apologize that this directory is loading sluggishly today).
Give special attention to Boxer, Gillibrand, Lincoln and Mikulski, all of whom are running for re-election in November.
(AR) Lincoln
(CA) Boxer
(CA) Feinstein
(CO) Bennet (not Bennett of Utah)
(CO) Udall (not Udall of New Mexico)
(CT) Dodd
(CT) Lieberman
(DE) Carper
(DE) Kaufman
(FL) Nelson
(HI) Akaka
(HI) Inouye
(IL) Burris
(IL) Durbin
(IN) Bayh
(IN) Lugar
(IA) Harkin
(MD) Cardin
(MD) Mikulski
(MA) Kerry
(MI) Levin
(MN) Franken
(MN) Klobuchar
(NV) Reid
(NJ) Lautenberg
(NJ) Menendez
(NM) Bingaman
(NY) Gillibrand
(NY) Schumer
(OR) Merkley
(PA) Specter
(RI) Reed
(RI) Whitehouse
(VT) Leahy
(VT) Sanders
(WA) Cantwell
(WA) Murray
(WI) Feingold
The list should include Republican Texas Senator Cornyn, who is strongly pro-amnesty and is wavering. Here’s a quote about him from thehill.com:
“Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), who voted no in 2007, stopped just short of threatening a GOP filibuster and said Reid risks killing a more comprehensive immigration reform package by submitting the DREAM Act prematurely.
Im for comprehensive reform, and its a mistake just to carve out one little piece of that and pass it independently, Cornyn said. Frankly, thats one of the most sympathetic portions of immigration reform, and Ive always thought its one of the engines that helps pull the train when it comes to other aspects of the issue. If it passes as a standalone, it will take the wind out of the sails to do other things we need to do on immigration.
