More Kan than Obama, I’m thinking. The ChiComs already know they can bully Obama because they own the US economy. Besides, if the Obama didn’t support the Brits in the recent Falklands controversy, who in their right mind would expect him to support Japan this time around?
Kan is an unknown quantity. He is still shaking out his new cabinet and recovering from Ozawa’s attempted takeover. The Chinese want to get him, and Japan, firmly on the defensive so they can increase their encroachment on those islands, among other things.
