Karl Rove, political mastermind for former President Bush, said Sunday that Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Party insurgent who won an upset victory in Delaware for the GOP Senate nomination, "can't simply ignore" the controversy stirred over the disclosure that she "dabbled in witchcraft" and has to find a way to "explain it and put it in its most sympathetic light and move on." "In southern Delaware, where there are a lot of church-going people, they're probably going to want to know what was that all about," Rove said on Fox News Sunday. "And again, she said it on television when she went on the ... the Bill Maher show." Rove was referring to an October 1999 appearance O'Donnell made on Maher's "Politically Incorrect" show where she said," I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven... One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn't know it." O'Donnell had been on Maher's show frequently in the 1990s, and Maher has said he is going to show an O'Donnell clip each week until she agrees to appear again.

That's true. That has to be sticking in Rove's throat. For myself I am sick of politicians and the pundits who have their noses up their backsides. I suspect I am not alone.

Christine O’Donnell has a great issue here - she’s running against the party bosses and has shown she can win in spite of them. Take that Rove, you magnificent bastard.

Speaking of Murkowsky, he also told folks in Alaska, if they’re going to vote for her as a write-in candidate, they need to make sure and spell her name correctly, or their vote won’t count. Sheesh! Shut up already Karl.

There was another thread that had a link to an article in which the explanation was that O’Donnell upset a huge applecart. Rove was supporting Castle. Once Castle won, there were going to be a lot of people moving up or getting some benefit from the election. Rove is LIVID and now it is laughable.
Stop helping the libtards. He should be saying that the other guy needs to explain the disclosure that he dabbled in Marxism.

I guess that’s why Rove was compelled to broadcast George Bush’s DUI charge during his campaign and prior to the press leaking it two days before the election....oh, wait....
She needs to turn Maher into a toad. If she can’t then he is a liar.
Maybe she hurt his professional pride in some off-the-record context.
He blew it royally in 2006 and did nothing to help in 2008. I don’t want to hear from him now, and neither to do the people who’ve contributed close to $2 million to O’Donnell’s campaign in the past week.
He loves power and can't stand it when any amount of it is taken away. This is all you need to understand about any of these people.
Man alive. I have never seen Karl Rove or any of the “Ruling Republicans” ask Obama about his birth certificate, college records or anything else in such a frank and direct manner as he is asking of Ms. O’Donnell.
So then, the voters of Delaware should vote for O’Donnell, because: 1. Carl Rove infuriates you and he’s unfair; and 2. O’Bama once took Cocaine/had gay sex, and therefore witchcraft should be OK to the people of Delaware?
She should say something, such as: Yes. I did wrong. I was young and foolish, didn’t get into it very far. I’ve seen the light and repented. Now could we stop all that sniping, Carl, and let me talk about O’Bama’s disastrous Health Care “reform,” mortgage bailouts, clunker buy-backs, multiplying czars, the Chinese debt, monetary policy, etc., etc.? That’s a whole lot more relevant to the people of the state of Delaware than what foolishness I got up to back when I was a callow youth.
Say that, and you gain respect and put the whole thing behind you.
