WJLA-TV, the local D.C. area affiliate of ABC, has fired longtime anchorman Doug McKelway for "insubordination and misconduct" after (or during?) an April report on left-wing oil spill protesters .
In his piece, McKelway said the sparsely attended event attracted protesters "largely representing far-left environmental groups." [He cited Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.] He went on to say the protest "may be a risky strategy because the one man who has more campaign contributions from BP than anybody else in history is now sitting in the Oval Office, President Barack Obama..."
McKelway added that the Senate was unlikely to pass "cap-and-trade" legislation this year, because "the Democrats are looking at the potential for huge losses in Congress come the midterm elections. And the last thing they want to do is propose a huge escalation in your electric bill, your utility bill, before then."
WJLA is owned by Allbritton Communications, which is also the owner of the liberal Politico website (and newspaper)... Allbritton apparently expects all of its reporters to toe an Obama-friendly, Greenpeace-friendly line.

“When God closes a door...”
He’ll find a MUCH better job now. And be able to say, “I told you so!” on November 3rd, LOL.
Maybe Rupert will give him a gig at Fox
Telling the truth offends liars.
Don’t be so sure. Fox is about it as far as conservative TV stations go.
Don’t be so sure. Fox is about it as far as conservative TV stations go.
Remember the three monkeys, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
Well this is all about that.
Not offending the zombie sheep or their grand high exalted ruler, Obummer.
Especially with the truth and facts.
How dare he have the audacity to be objective in reporting the facts!!!
Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network do a great job about reporting facts.
It’s probably the only cable news channel that bothers to check the truthfulness of its stories before airing them.
I applaud and congratulate them for being the number one channel for news and if they cointinue to report truth and facts, they will remain number 1.
Oh dear, another Pravda publication should hit the dust soon! It is time to come up with a rational Conservative underground newspaper with all the news the Pravdaians won’t print! Like the truth!!!!
“Dont be so sure. Fox is about it as far as conservative TV stations go.”
What you do is give him a gig at MSNBC and increase your ratings, advertising revenues and exposure to several million additional consumers.
HAHAHAHA..............Sometimes I crack myself up.
In today’s media world, reporting the truth gets you fired.
One more step towards totalitarianism.
During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.
