Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Sunday attended the unveiling in Tehran of the Cyrus Cylinder, which is on loan from the British Museum. The cylinder dates from the 6th Century BC and is thought by many to be the first charter of human rights. It will be on public display for four months.
During the event, the Iranian president put a keffiyeh, which is part of the uniform of the pro-government Basij militia, around the neck of a man dressed as Cyrus the Great. In a dispatch titled “Cyrus The Great Becomes A Basij Member,” the hard-line Fars news agency wrote that when Ahmadinejad decorated “Cyrus the Great” with the black-and-white keffiyeh, all the foreign ambassadors and other guests present at the ceremony stood up.

Iranian MP criticizes Ahmadinejad for praising Cyrus The Great
It seems that the president has made the remarks under the influence of his advisor, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaii, who has recently proposed that Iran promote the Iranian School of Thought instead of the Islamic School of Thought, the MP said.
The president should be aware that he is obligated to promote Islam and not ancient Iran, and if he fails to fulfill his obligation, he will lose the support and trust of the Muslim nation of Iran, he added.
Over the yrs, IRI has labelled Cyrus the Great: a dictator, a homosexual, & now they’re implying he was a pro-Palestinian muslim (no doubt in disguise!).
“Keffiyeh” is a loose hanging cloth that Arab Sheikhs wear on their heads. For “pro-government Bassji militia” in Iran, the black & white Keffiyeh is their way of sympathising with the Palestinians - remember Yasser Arafat?
The deliberate stupidity of the British Museum is Also on display in the Mullah-land. Only the UN & IRI can top it. Well, I won’t mention a few others who would sell their souls to continue to do business w/the terrorist regime in Iran, mostly behind the scenes.

Sounds like Ahmadinejad can’t stand the idea of paying tribute to Cyrus in any way or get rid of Iranians’ love & respect for Cyrus, so he has to try to transform him into pro-Palestinian basiji instead.
What is the over/under on whether the Nutjob of Iran will let this artifct return to Britain when the time of display is up????
