‘Anchor baby' status could mean life or death for Utah family (Criminals need your help)

SALT LAKE CITY -- In the debate over immigration reform, you may have heard the term "anchor babies." It's used to reference a child born in the United States to parents with illegal status in an effort to gain them citizenship. But does it work?

For one such family, staying in the United States could literally mean life or death for their young son.

Francisco Javier Espinoza and his wife, Claudia, came to the United States to build a new life. Francisco worked as a framer.

"For work, it's a better life here for my family," Espinoza said.

KSL have recently removed their comment boards so that they can indoctrinate the kids.

They are to STUPID to know, they need to fix the problems in their own homes, it’s much easier to come to the US and let us take care of them. Well I’m TIRED OF TAKING CARE OF THEM! As RR said we are the last bastion of freedom, and they come here and want their commie life style to continue at a better level. GO HOME AND FIX YOUR OWN COUNTRY, and quit trying to WRECK MINE!

This case demonstrates what it takes for a child to be able to stop a father’s deportation,” immigration attorney Aaron Tarin told KSL News Friday.

But if Espinoza is deported, his wife and four children will likely have to follow

So, legal American citizens pay because they can’t find work & medical care in their own country! I can guarantee that would never happen if someone was found illegally in Mexico.

US and Utah taxpayers are paying for this anchor baby’s leukemia treatments.....Illegal immigration is the gift that keeps on giving. Generation after generation

The Mormons love illegal immigrants. Let the Church pay for this kid’s leukemia.
Mormons used to be a racist church that excluded blacks and others. Now they can’t sign them up fast enough. Any obscure world language you want translated you can find translator in Utah. The Mormon church has brought them in like a giant magnet. The mix is legal and illegal immigrants. The Mormons love them all.....

I guess the Mormon plan is that some will go back to Upper Volta and Borneo to preach and hook more converts into the church

No... I find saying to send the family home and put this poor kid in foster care the summum of insensitivity. No person should ever think about it, even less say it. I find that most posters seem to believe that showing insensitivity for this family is the thing. It is just plain awful...

If showing compassion is being condemned, then I prefer condemnation.

Awful!

ALL illegal alien families should be forced to leave and take their minor (anchor baby) children with them. Period.

OK, then deport the whole crew.

If you come home one day and find them camped out in your living room, do you say “Welcome, my undocumented house-guests; we must find a way to normalize your presence in our household. I will be pleased and honored to fund your baby’s medical care”, or do you say “Get the heck out before I call the cops!”?

The latter?

How can you be so heartless?

Well I don’t agree in this case...

These are the words of extremists that do not look at either ethics or moral values or compassion but try to generalize what cannot be. If this is what you want to be, it’s your choice. It’s an ugly choice but you made it and you’ll have to stand before your creator and justify it.

If showing compassion is being condemned,...

It's really easy to be compassionate with other people's money.

The problem is that eventually "other people's money" runs out.

Then what?

They are not in your living room.

I didn’t say “my” living room; I said “your” living room.

If you think you have a right to keep them out of your house, then why do we not as a nation have a right to keep uninvited guests out of our country?

Woah....I don’t think you are seeing what people here are saying...it is not insensitivity—we feel their pain, but, there are limits to what we can and should have to do in the name of compassion....Haiti—terrible tragedy...did you donate all of your life savings to help them? How about to the recent earthquake victims? Basically, that is what I read that you are saying we should be doing for illegals...donate all of our children’s wages and savings (taxation at 75-80 percent along lines of Atlas Shrugged), because I am sure there are hundreds more cases just like this particular family’s.

Most of us understand compassion, but I also understand that there are limits to what individuals can do and what society can do. If a charity gives away all their money, they are not going to be able to do anyone any good. I have seen crusaders neglect their families needs—financially, emotionally, etc. to help others—balance is what is needed.

We as a country need to take care of our families first...take care of our elderly and our future generations.

All the compassion that we have shown to illegal immigrants over the past 50 years has contributed to the bankrupting of our country—we are now 13.5 TRILLION in debt. We don’t have money for social security, medicare, or medicaid to help legal citizens let alone illegals...it is fact, not insensitivity. The US poverty rate is at an all time high, where do we get the money to support our own legal working poor?

Yet, you deem me insensitive if I recognize our limitations in terms of resources—you say we we must show compassion to people who should not be here in the first place....Sorry, I think I am being very sensitive to the country and my fellow citizen’s needs. We cannot continue to support the entire planet in the name of compassion....The medical expenses that we are bearing to cover costs of illegals and anchor babies is bankrupting states. Illegals are even getting INSTATE TUITION at many state universities....something that our own children are not entitled to if they cross state lines.

I feel for the family, I am sure there are hundreds of examples of legal immigrants and citizens in dire circumstances that we can and do help. This family, however, is in their situation because they chose to come here illegally—husband came for job, wife came to have baby—they broke the law.....There are hospitals in Mexico, they have a choice to go back home...if they really wanted their anchor baby to have excellent medical care, they probably could leave him with a relative or friends who are not being deported and then baby can join them when he is better....the foster care comment is akin to adopting baby to someone who can take better care—women have been doing that for centuries....it is not easy, but parents sacrifice for their children’s best interests. What is new is the anchor baby industry that has sprung up around the country in recent years which encourages pregnant illegals to cross the border hand have their children here.

I am sure in your own life you have to address limitations to your sensitivity and compassion, we as a country have to do the same—we already let 4000 stay, should we up it to 4001 for this family? 5000, 6000? I am sure there is no limit to hardship cases, but there are limits to our resources.

No one is condemning you—you actually are the one doing the judging and condemning calling everyone insensitive, awful?! I asked if you were being sarcastic because, frankly, I was somewhat surprised at what you wrote and wondered if you were serious—obviously you are! Well, you may think me insensitive, but I am a realist who sees our country on the brink financially—we will help no one if we don’t get our spending under control and SOON.

Whatta bunch of crap from you.

This is all just a cheap hustle to play on the emotions of weaklings.

I live on the Central Coast of California where there are tens of thousands of these colonizers and we've heard it all before. Once you swallow this BS, then the knives come out. They know you can be bullied or bamboozled, they don't care how they get what you have.

Utah doesn't owe Mexico a damn thing. Thirty years ago there might have been 1% of the population in Salt Lake that was "hispanic".

And if you really want to understand the West, you can look at the history and see that it was Mormon's who were the real settlers: The Spanish were a tiny presence.

The Americans owe Mexico and Mexicans NOTHING. Everything bad about them and their country is their own fault.

“You are talking of the life of a child.”

And whose responsibility is that child? Mine? YOURS? This governments??

NO, it’s his parents responsibility. Stop trying to fix the world, you can’t, and I’m tired of people like you trying to make me do it. Show your compassion! Let ‘em come stay with you. No one is stopping you.

“The Americans owe Mexico and Mexicans NOTHING. Everything bad about them and their country is their own fault. “

They’re bleeding us to death...literally!

From Bill Glenn, USBP {Ret}:

16 September 2010

Dear México Lindo,

Feliz cumpliaños. This year you reach the 200th anniversary of your independence from Spain. It’s hardly a success story. You won a battle once against the French on 5 May 1862 and now Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in many parts of the United States. No wonder. It’s the only success we can identify in your history. The rest has been fraught with your internal power struggles, armed rebellions, assassinations of national leaders, subjugation of the poor and indigenous, political corruption throughout all departments of government and, simply, failure as a nation.

Today, you petulantly attempt to shift the blame for your dismal status onto us, the imperialist gringo, a nasty little word, full of hate and anger akin to our own ethnic slurs. The difference is that you use the word regularly in your news editorials and opinion columns to convey contempt while routinely accusing my country of being racist. Mexico, if you’re seeking racism, look no further than your own boundaries. Reflect on your treatment of migrants from other Latin American countries and even of your own indigenous people. It’s hardly commendable.

The chaotic conditions you find yourself in today require you to focus your attention on external affairs because you obviously recognize there is little hope of help from within. This is sadly ironic since you’ve always been such a patriotically fierce defender of your sovereignty. The blame for your failures cannot honestly be placed on us. We’ve only been at this independence game 34 years longer than you. No, your problems likely stem from the seed of despotic corruption planted by Spain when you replaced their royalty with your own. The ensuing temptations of that legacy have been just too bountiful for your politicians to resist.

Now we are facing controversial immigration issues for which both our countries can equally share the blame; you failed to provide for your people and chose to neglect our immigration laws, each for greed and politics. “Poor Mexico, so far from God, so close to the United States,” as the saying goes. As a result, we have allowed you to develop a de facto dependency on us.

You and your neighbors to the south obviously share contempt for my country. Is it because we are successful as a nation? Is it that you really believe we took land that belonged to you? If you still occupied all that territory that you yourselves took from the original people, would Mexico today be a shining example of success?

On this, your bicentennial as a nation, may you begin to exchange your baseless pride for a measure of national responsibility. When the day comes that you no longer stoop to the exportation of your own citizens as a commodity, you may then have something for which to be proud. Until then, que le vaya bien.

Bill G

Entre los individuos, como entre las naciones, el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz, “Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace.” Benito Juarez.

Drop dead with you phony judgments by God! If this were a minor and occasional problem like it was 20 years ago then no one would care if they stayed. But now it’s a massive invasion by cynical Mexicans/Central Americans with their anchor babies....All with a different scam and reason why they have a right to stay here

So... I have no compassion for their medical problems. The whole lot should be deported ASAP. The economy sucks and we cannot afford these parasites. They should be in Mexico with whatever problems they have. Instead they have cooked up a racket to have US taxpayers take care of their problems.
