Used to be that when a household decided they wanted a different fridge or washer/dryer, they just went and selected one. Now they are/will be forced to get a new one even if they ae happy with what they have and don’t need to be spending money on a newer one.

Keep up the good work, honey. Just make it impossible for us to have or do virtually anything. Just keep piling it on.
I was talking to someone this week (a “surprise” conservative), and we agreed that apparently, the country needs to get bitch-slapped every 30 years or so after electing Democrats. So, although this feels “bad” right now, over the long term, it’s good. Maybe the next Reagan will come from nowhere after this evil era.

Thats an existing statute that this department of energy is going to make work really hard, Zoi said. Weve already issued appliance standards that are going to save the American public somewhere between $250 billion and $300 billion over the next 20 years just by getting the crummy stuff off the market. You effers have yet to issue a single standard that saves any of us a dime, Ms. Zoi. It's going to be no different this time around.

As the secretary [Chu] says, Were going to make people save money for themselves, Zoi said. They havent dumped the dollar bills on the ground yet.OK, I'm stumped, what on earth does that bolded statement above mean?

Hey, I like my crummy stuff, it still works and I can't afford all your shiny non-crummy stuff as fast as you apparently are going to force me to buy it - stfu

So when my ancient refrig goes, a new one will cost about $5000 so Obama and all can get their piece.

Incandescent light bulbs are one of the most efficient types of heaters around.
And they are being outlawed.

The fourth one, which the secretary and I love, said Zoi, is where we have a mandate. Where we can actually just issue regulations and do market transformation. The party of "choice."
Pol Pot and Josef Stalin "loved" this power too.

These people are simply nauseating. If we don’t turn things around (starting in November, hopefully) very soon and jettison these thugs and dismantle their extra-Constitutional agencies our Nation, society, and economy will all be DESTROYED in short order. It has been going on for decades (varying in degree and intensity) but since this POS was put into office by morons, the pace, scale, and scope have all increased to a dangerously accelerated pace.

That would be under the Federal Control of Electrical Appliances clause of the Constitution, I guess.

I would like to ask Assistant Secretary of Energy Cathy Zoi if she will lead by example and replace her high electricity consuming vibrator with a wind-up model?
