Rasmussen Poll: Independent voters prefer O’Donnell
Cubachi ^ | 9/16/2010 | Cubachi

Rasmussen released new poll of 500 Likely Voters in Delaware poll showing an 11-point gap between Coons and O’Donnell, 53% – 42%. This is not a gap that is hard to overcome. Yet if we have the likes of Karl Rove “The Architect” continue bashing her, his messaging will be used as ammunition against her. However, I think conservatives in the grassroots level, as well as independents who are disenfranchised by the parties realize what is at stake here.

One of the interesting stats about this poll:

Voters not affiliated with either major party prefer O’Donnell by eight points.

I thought O’Donnell was supposedly not popular with independents according to some on our side. Mike Castle is our only hope to capture their vote. That’s what I kept hearing. Yet some of the beltway wanted to compromise principle to vote in a liberal, to get a majority. What’s the point of a republican majority when we’ll have a liberal voting for democrat causes?

Thank goodness for Dan Riehl, some in the blogosphere, Mark Levin, Rush, tea parties, and others for their steadfast support of O’Donnell. We now have a conservative in a winnable race.

I really don’t think Rove is hurting anyone but himself. If he keeps it up, as he seems determined to do, she can use him in her campaign ads as a representative of an extinct establishment.

As for Coons, it strikes me that he is a truly vulnerable candidate. The Dems expected a losing race against that old pro Castle, so they didn’t put their obvious candidate forward—namely, Beau Biden. Not that he wouldn’t have been vulnerable, too.

what I think the establishment doesn’t get is that independents aren’t necessarily liberals... and if coons is a well known leftist...and we have leftists currently running the country...and the majority of the people are fed up with the leftists.... well it stands to reason the independents aren’t going to vote for a leftist.

Rove was right. She is obviously unelectable. Thank you GOP establishment for keeping us in line. Now get out there and inform the independents why they are misinformed losers.

She isn't, but even if O'Donnell were guilty of everything they accuse her of, she's still a better choice than Reid's pet, the Bearded Marxist. And come on now...Delaware is used to having Biden as a Senator, so it's not like it'd be hard to be an upgrade.

The ruling class? Who are the ruling class? Do you mean the shadow government? I wouldn’t call them a class. I would call them a disaster for the Republic.

I agree.... I’m getting the sense the most think Rove is just looking like an idiot now, and every time he trys to defend his position on this, he digs the hole deeper.

They smile in your face, all the time they wanna take your place the back stabbers (back stabbers)
They smile in your face, all the time they wanna take your place the back stabbers (back stabbers)

All you fellow’s, who have someone, and you really care, yeahhhhhhh, yeah, yeah
Then it’s all of you fellows who better beware, yeah, yeah
Somebody’s out, to get your lady
A few of your buddies they sure look shady
Blades are long, clenched tight in their fist
Aimin’ straight at your back
And I don’t think they’ll miss

(What they do!)

(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)

I keep gettin’, all these visits, from my friends, yeah,
(What they doing to me)
They come to my house again and again and again and again, yeah
So are they there to see my woman
I don’t even be home but they just keep on comin’
What can I do to get on the right track
I wish they’d take some of these knives off my back

(What they do)

(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)

Low down... dirty...

(What they do!)

(They smile in your face)
Smiling faces... smiling faces sometimes
(Back stabbers)

(They smile in your face)
I don’t need... low down, dirty bastards

I have a question about the Castle/Coons race. If Castle was a shoo-in, a guaranteed win, why would Coons be sitting on a $1 million war chest?

Voters not affiliated with either major party prefer O’Donnell by eight points ...

... and most either (1) only know what the MSM, attack ads, and RINOs have told them about the lady; or (2) don't know anything about her at all.

It's not over yet ... by a long shot.

It’s the liberal Republicans freaking out. The Independents were polled months ago and liked her. If the liberals would shut up and bac her like they expect of conservatives, they’d be able to concentrate on peeling off just enough Dems to win.
