The woman who gained sympathy around the world after a stranger threw acid in her face has made a shocking confession: she made the whole thing up.
Bethany Storro, 28, confessed to police yesterday, saying the severe burns she suffered in the horrific 'attack' were actually 'self-inflicted'. Police said they did not know the motive behind her bizarre plan.
Her confession - which is set to cause outrage around the world - came after police, suspicious at the holes in her story, turned up the pressure by searching her house.

I read this earlier. I’ve burned myself with acid filling a battery once, and it’s not pleasant.
It completely defies understanding how someone would deliberately pour acid on themselves. This woman has SERIOUS issues and should be institutionalized. This is how sociopathy starts.

A self inflicted acid burn on selected features of her face and then attributed to a random attack by a black woman tossing acid in her face would get the surgery she was wanting. Someone would pay for it for sure!

I do commitment hearings every week. There is just no understanding what makes some people so self-destructive. I always remember Karen Carpenter...pretty, talented, successful, close family and friends, but she could not control her self-destructive tendencies.
They all need our prayers.
A fascination with anything battery powered. The subject will often sit for hours, removing and replacing the batteries in an object.
I guess some people cant stand being young and beautiful.
I don’t know about jail but she obviously needs to be somewhere where she can receive some serious help.
Whatever her issues are, thank God, it wasn’t someone else that she hurt.
Harming small animals, narcissism, lack of or negative affect, emotionless gaze, stunted developmental disorders... the list goes on.
