As someone else mentioned, I think he may have actually lost his license to practice medicine in the UK. I think the guy's name is Wakefield (sp?). I do remember reading that the retraction that the Lancet had to publish this year was one of the first of its kind in that publication. And, to characterize the journal's indictment of Wakefield as "scathing" would be kind.
