Ingenious!
Here we all thought Karl Rove was bashing Delaware conservative Christine ODonnell and all along he was just raising money for her senatorial campaign. Karl Rove walked back his attacks on Christine ODonnell this morning on FOX News.
My job as a Fox analyst is to call it as I see them, Rove explained this morning. My job is not to be a cheerleader for every Republican.
Rove listed all the reasons hes said in the past why ODonnell has destroyed the GOPs (already outside) chances at a Senate majority the problems with honesty he first mentioned on Hannity, her strange finances, etc but then made it clear that hes 100% behind the partys rising star.
Look, I endorsed her the other night, he said this morning. I was one of the first to do it.

How about this: if she wins, he agrees to reregister as a Democrat.
Bull!!
the prodigal son comes home, finally.
Too late Karl. You’re right-your job isn’t to be a Cheerleader for every Republican. You just choose the wrong ones for whom to shake your pom-poms. Time for a new career.
Now let’s talk about character issues....
Damage has been done we have seen your true colors go put your Mao hat on and sit in the corner you stooge!!
No dice rove, you sh!t in your messkit bigtime and no amount of hand washing will fix that.Elitist POS.
Its 3rd and long Karl. Time to punt.
The old,”I was for her before I was against her “ bit.
I floated that idea, it wasn’t well received.

he’s gonna fall on his ass, walking backwards like that...
Is this a joke???Yeah, Rove helped her raise that money..but not on purpose.
And since when did he endorse Christine?
Well maybe it’s my computer but nothing comes up on the link except the header and the side bar listing blog sites. The section where the article is suppose to be is blank.
Is he really backtracking or is this satire?
Many Conservatives now give more credence, and in some cases outright respect, to Dick Morris than they do to Karl Rove.
“Strange Days have found us,
Strange Days have tracked us down.”
He never endorsed her—at least not in his appearances yesterday and the day before on Fox News. All he did was badmouth her, and viciously.
Of course not. But let's say for conversation sake it was. It was the dumbest trick ever perpetrated because it backfired on the trickster big time. He didn't just shoot himself in the foot, he amputated his leg.
Got it...just slow connection I guess...
I call them as I see them too.
You sir a a little Boehner who suffers from impotence and back biting bench sitter who had his glory days.
How about this Mr. Rouge.
Your shtick is so 2004. If you ain’t schilling for our team then you should retire next to a lake that is stocked weekly with fish so you can catch them.
If that ain’t easy enough for you then we can put you in a rocking chair next to a barrel full of fish.
Lunatic must’uh fell down a flight of stairs and hit his head on every damn step.
Right now My opinion of the formerly “Magnificent Buhstard” is he is lower than a grave diggers boots.
I love your honesty. You must be a true conservative!
Tokyo Rove on crack cocaine?
Leni
What convoluted thinking. Reminds me of Obama’s logic and the way the talking heads in the WH spin things.
Well, call me a contrarian, and I wish O’Donnell the best, but all along all Rove was saying - along with Perino and other commentators - is that O’Donnell will be a harder sell than Castle to get another Republican senator elected and to secure a GOP majority.
Do I agree with DeMint? Yes and no. I can assure everyone this: I am in Delaware, am a native of 50 years, and every down-ballot conservative, including many conservatives such as Colin Bonini and Gordon Winegar, wanted CASTLE at the top of the ticket given his proven crossover appeal.
I spoke with other operatives in the DE GOP senate caucus today and the consensus was uniform: it is now every man for himself, which is regrettable.
O’Donnell might yet win the general, or she could collapse entirely. Castle would have waltzed into the seat and many downballot conservatives would more likely have been elected.
I understand out of state folks desire to only view the Senate seat from a national perspective, but we in Delaware had our game plan which has now been obliterated. Our chance to retake the State house is now gone, too, and we had a good shot.
Rove is a liar. He attacked her, lied about her,
defiled her reputation, and he is being quoted
by the DNC, to help the DNC, even as this is posted.
Rove, you are a bastard.
Rove is dead to me.
Karl just proved he is an opportunist of the worse kind.
It is true that her coffers filled as a result, but come on Karl, we are conservatives.
Turdblossom seems to fit. *snort*
Castle was Rove’s guy. Rove and the DC establishment felt he’d have no problem being chosen. But that didn’t happen. Not only that, it was another nail in the coffin for establishment control. I think this was so unexpected it blew the lid off their ability to cope. I think you’re putting way too much into a simple election event.
Yeah, you would think...but it is for real. He said he was one of the first to endorse her in that interview.
You agree with Rove then? Well, well, who’s the stooge. You joined when? Oh yea, 3 days ago, Maybe you ought to be zotted.
McRove, McRomney McBush And McGrahm and McSnowe etc.
Wowser.
I sent Karl an email expressing my disgust with his ongoing attack. Here is what I got in return. This is just his explanation. The email also consisted of an enormous amount of info (crap) trying to back up his position. Maybe he should go after Obama that hard. Anyway, here it is.
“If we attack President Obama for putting people who can’t pay their taxes into his Administration, how can we defend a Republican candidate who doesn’t pay her taxes, her college bills, or her mortgage; has had no visible means of support; and sued a reputable conservative organization claiming she was the victim of sex discrimination? She didn’t win the lawsuit: her employer said she was fired for trying to run her own pr consulting firm out of their offices while on their clock. We conservatives want conservative candidates, but we do our cause little good by nominating conservatives with serious questions about their fitness and character.
Here are some of the articles that helped shape my thinking, in addition to my impression after meeting her briefly last year:”
And on and on......
Yes, that's what he was saying, but he said it vindictively. And that is what was wrong, and continues to be wrong, with his spiel. Way over the top, totally unnecessary to go after a woman as he did, and in doing so, he did irreparable harm to himself.
Come on, Karl. You were in on this backroom deal. Right?

Castle has spent the past 36 hours fielding phone calls and pats on the back from well-wishing colleagues and other politicians, including President Obama, Vice President Biden, House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and dozens of others.

The influential conservative website RedState.com in August cited sources in Ms. ODonnells campaign for a report predicting that Mr. Castle would follow the example of Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter and switch parties after the election.

If Mike Castle becomes the next United States Senator from Delaware he is going to get sworn in, serve a bit, then become a Democrat, resign, and let Beau Biden get an appointment.
Its a done deal. The deal has been made already. Im hearing this not just from Christine ODonnell people, but party regulars in Delaware, some of whom support Castle. It is insane.
Maybe that is why Mike Castle is running from Christine ODonnell. He is afraid to have to answer questions about this. The man will not debate her to save his life.
(snip)
Oh please..Christine brought out more of the average voter this time around. Rove does not know Christine personally, and was talking as if he did. Voters are tired of it. Why would you say you care about the people of Delaware in your post but quote Rove’s predictions? Do you honestly believe he gives a flip?
Rove's political future was going down the drain and if he didn't project a false front about his support his money days were over. So now he is all sweetness and light.
Like Mr. Castle, Obamessiah, Pelosi, et al, he thinks he is the ruling class and we are noting but Homer Simpson pawns (Thanks for the apt political illustration Mr. Beck :o) that can be manipulated and sacrificed so that he can maintain his power.
Sorry, not buying it Carl, you told us exactly what you think and we, the American people are not on the same page.
