Aha, I wondered who would be quickest.

I like the support Terris’ family is giving to people whose lives have been altered by brain injuries.

I had no idea how extreme the discrimination was against brain injured people, until I watched the public execution of Terri Schiavo. People actually laughed at her brutal murder. Her death wasn’t enough for them. They wanted her to suffer as much as possible. They wanted everyone who cared about her to suffer.

Since then, I’ve become aware of the common practice of discriminating against brain injury survivors. They’re frequently denied the basic necessities of life that most of us take for granted. And when those situations are discussed here, there’s usually at least one freeper (often more) who defend the abuse of the victims.

I’m glad to see Terri Schiavo’s family still shining a bright light on the cockroaches.

Is there a reason this was moved from News to Bloggers?

My petition to impeach judge greer is still online. . . . It’s amazing to me that her family has been able to keep up the fight. I wonder if Felos gave some input on zero care’s death panels.

That’s your petition? Thanks. I was one of the first signers.

I’m also amazed at the Schindlers’ longevity in this battle. It can’t be easy, being in the crosshairs all this time.

From the link:

"This new name better reflects the purpose of our organization -- to continue to develop and update our network to help families protect their loved ones from a very aggressive anti-life agenda taking control of our nation," said Director of Development, Suzanne Vitadamo.

In partnership with attorneys and physicians along with tens of thousands of supporters across the country, the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network offers counsel, legal guidance and critical support providing the tools for families to protect their loved ones, never forgetting that all life has value and dignity.

The additional work carried out by the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network is primarily to raise awareness of the challenges facing people who have become vulnerable because of physical and cognitive disabilities, chronic illness and advanced age.

Terri's Network provides valuable education, resources and outreach for families, loved-ones and caregivers of vulnerable citizens. It is the mission of the Network to challenge the notion that some lives are not worth living and to protect the inherent life and liberty interests of those most at risk.

Yes I did that. I was depressed for a long time after she died. I don’t think I even came on FR for a good year or so after. There were some people who signed it who wrote me their stories and tho few were stories that ended in death they were gut wrenching. The state can and will do what they want at the behest of lawyers when it comes to ones’ assets if there is any money to be made. Some people went broke from being ripped off through the courts. It was all sad. We are even more hostage to court decisions now than we were then and the picture is certainly not brighter.

One irony is that Jim King ended up in a hospice just like Terri. He didn’t make it out alive either. God won and will win in the end.

God bless them. It's the time they would have spent caring for Terri, had they been allowed. I'm just surprised they used her married name instead of her maiden name in shortening it for the new title of the group.

Name recognition was probably a strong factor. It’s been over five years since she was murdered, and most people still don’t connect her with her family name. Schiavo is infamous. It’s even become a verb. The Schindlers are working to prevent people from being Schiavoed.
