I have relatives in upstate NY. Kennedy democrat types.

They are very angry and embarassed at the current NY leadership. To the point that they will listen with an open mind to what all the candidates have to say. IOW, the GOP has a fair shot at getting these votes as they will no longer auto-vote for the D.

I think the democrats are in BIG trouble with ALL NY state residents, except for maybe the deep democrat core members.

Why do many liberals praise boarding schols for the children of inner cities as being a way to defeat abject failure in public schools BUT it is not OK for adults to have the same right?

You are right— Paladino’s proposal has lots of merit...i support it and so do most people I talk to after they start actually considering its rationale and merits!

“Paladino wins GOP nomination for NY governor”

This is good news. If you are going to lose anyway at least have the intestinal fortitude to do so with you principles intact.

They do so at their own peril. This is their last opportunity to support their constituents, esle they wither and die on the vine.

Albany,NYC,and Buffalo’s votes deliver New York to the Dems. If Rudy would have run,he’d have beaten Schumer’s
poodle.

To some degree he is right... we deserve the government we have.

That said, Carl is going to run into Shelly Silver, and unless he can “take out” Silver, none of what Carl says he wants to do (cut taxes 10% cut spending 20%) will happen.

Silver will dig in his heels and force a 10% increase in taxes and a 20% increase in spending just to humiliate Paladino and show him who’s boss.

The only trump card that Carl has is to say, “shut down the state government”, and he just might have to do exactly that.

We shall see. I hope that Cuomo the Pompous gets bloodied up by Carl, he needs it

RUSH just said that a Paladino- StatusQuomo debate would be the biggest event on national TV.

Let’s see if Quomo takes the challenge-—Carl will wipe up the floor with him.

I agree. Rudy would have won. No one took on looser Schumer. Sad.

Cuomo, Jr. His father was a disaster. I remember hearing how many (small businesses) left the state because of him.

Up to the eve of the elections, polls were showing Mario Cuomo with a huge lead.

WOW! Didn't know that - how interesting and informative is that!! Kinda shows how the 'polls' ARE MEANT TO DECEIVE.

We must remember this come 2012 and not to look or be swayed by polls but vote for the most conservative - no matter if the polls say - he/she doesn't have a chance!

Pataki defeated Cuomo by a score of 48.79% to 45.45% with Tom Golisano and Robert Walsh of the Right-to-Life Party taking the rest.

See here :

http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?year=1994&fips=36&f=0&off=5&elect=0;return%20false

According to Wikipedia :

“The polls had Gov. Cuomo up by as much as ten points going into the final two weeks. but they then narrowed at the end. In reality, however, Pataki remained neck and neck with Cuomo during the entire race, focusing solely on the issues of tax cuts and the death penalty during the campaign.”

The rest is as they say ... history.

If nothing else, Paladino will agressively question Cuomo’s tenure at HUDD and his oversight of the subprime mortgage program.

Must see video on Andrew Cuomo:

Poor Lazio, had he not been so moderate and so lazy, he might have been a contender! (Ten years ago, that is)

We don’t like dynasties, but the people of NY depend on them, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Cuomo. I guess their best politico was ol’ Al Smith.

“Carl Paladino wasted no time in setting his sights on Democrat Andrew Cuomo “

Paladino is wasting no time fighting.

“Palladino: No to Ground Zero Mosque.”

Paladino was on Jay Sekulow’s radio show today, objecting to the mosque. If you want to listen to the interview, it’s at the end of the first half-hour on aclj.org.
