granted, i overstated.

i have been behind enemy lines for so long that i have shellshock.

i have been voting in massachusetts since 1980, so far only reagan wheld and brown were my chosen winners. i skipped out on healy and romney, thinking she/he/it would turn out like a wheld or weld... whatever...

misery loves company.

Lazio is still contemplating a run for Governor of NY on the Conservative Party Ticket this November 2, 2010.

IMHO: Rick Lazio was a looser when he was in the U.S. Congress. He was a looser when he ran against Hillary Clinton in the worst campaign I have ever witnessed against an obvious Carpetbagger.

Now he proves that he is not only a big looser, but a potential spoiler as well by not doing the right thing and immediately supporting the GOP Nominee.

IMHO: Lazio even looks like Dennis Kucinich. I know it is asking a great deal for Paladino to defeat Andrew Coumo in the general Election but I would rather run this fall with him than Lazio.

Pfft, I’d be happy with teaching them to wash their hair and armpits. I’ve been in grocery stores where they are gray with dirt and you can smell them two check out lines over.

No kidding.

Now I'm REALLY glad that I didn't vote for him.

He got pounded in the primary and needs to take a hint. If he's going to screw us and do something that will split the vote and get Cuomo in, he's a traitor and doesn't deserve to hold office in NY ever again.

The vote against Cuomo CAN'T be split if there's any hope of keeping him out of office.

"He came in on Spitzer's coattails,"

Ooops! I misread that line, inadvertently omitting the word "in." That conjured up a mental image that will be difficult for me to erase.

I’d like to jump for joy but forgive me for not doing it (bad back you know).

But seriously, how many of you out there believe Paladino has a chance at defeating Andrew Cuomo in a hopelessly blue state like NY when Cuomo is trying to position himself like a tax cutting, deficit reducing new Democrat ?

Paladino is 30 freaking percentage points behind the last time I check.

They’d have been on firmer ground if they’d pointed out that Paladino contributed to Hillary, Kerry and Gore.

Paladino stands a better chance than Lazio.

What do you propose we do? Not vote for him?

Not vote at all? Just let Cuomo get elected in without trying?

It’s happened elsewhere, it can happen here.

Will it? God only knows, but it’s possible.

More prayer and fasting on the way for November....

He was 30 points down in the primary not long ago too.

There is no downside here. If he loses, he’ll go down swinging. But any NYer who watched his victory speech knows he’s going to be a serious force to be reckoned with in this election. Cuomo is weak and unprepared for a fight like this. They’re used to the GOP rolling over for them. That stops now.

At the beginning of the 1969 season no one would have given the Mets a small fraction of a chance at winning the World Series! (Not sure what your “met” in your name stands for but I had been thinking about that Met team while scanning this thread.)

How much support is Paladino getting from the GOP?

Will the establishment good old boys try to throw him under the bus the way they’re doing to Christine O’Donnell?

Screw the NY GOP. Paladino has his own money and the tea party groups have their own boots on the ground. The NY GOP can get on board or get run over. It’s that simple.

Besides, the NY GOP doing nothing for their candidates wouldn’t be a change from past elections anyway. They are useless.

Yeah, and Japan bashed the crud out of us at Pearl Harbour, and yet, 3 years 6 months later, we were supremely victorious.

It is only a matter of courage, will, guts and determination.

So, are you with us?

Or are you going to just piss and moan and whine from the sidelines??

Choice is yours, friend.

Hop on the train, its leaving the station.

I believe Paladino contributed to all parties dem and pubbie. It’s something you have to do in business to keep afloat here in corrupt NYS. I hope he’s not another Scott Brown.

One, if not my favorite, political moment was watching Dan Rather announcing that George Pataki (a Republican) had WON the election for governor in New York. Priceless.

Andrew Cuomo will be destroyed. He has a famous name, period. We are so over that.

Keep an eye on those polls my friend, now the race begins. Remember Paladino had NO CHANCE to win and he beat Lazio almost 2 to 1. This redefines “landslide”.

I have to admit... Even skeptical me was surprised by this result. Up to the eve of the elections, polls were showing Mario Cuomo with a huge lead.

I just hope to God that this surprise can be replicated from father to son this November.

I’m stunned by how big Paladino’s win was!

I voted for him because I think it will make the race much more interesting - he’s not going to pull any punches.

But seeing how many votes he has - maybe he does have a shot in November. Can anyone really say they want another Cuomo? It’s the worst possible year to be associated with the past.
