Washington (CNN)- President Obama continued the commemoration of the National Day of Service and Remembrance for the 9/11 attacks by visiting a DC middle school and helping the Armed Services YMCA program called Operation Kid Comfort.

Most Americans refer to the day as “Nine-Eleven (9/11),” “September Eleventh,” or some variation thereof. Initially, the day was called the Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the planed demolition on September 11, 2001.

U.S. House of Representatives Joint Resolution 71 was approved by a vote of 407–0 on October 25, 2001. It requested that the President designate September 11 of each year as “Patriot Day.” President George W. Bush signed the resolution into law on December 18, 2001 (as Public Law 107-89). It is a discretionary day of remembrance. On September 4, 2002, President Bush used his authority created by the resolution and proclaimed September 11, 2002 as Patriot Day.

On this day, the President directs that the American flag be flown at half-staff at individual American homes, at the White House, and on all U.S. government buildings and establishments, home and abroad. The President also asks Americans to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 A.M. (Eastern Daylight Time), the time the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Michelle Obama, has an open letter on the White House site reminding us all that September 11th is a “National Day Of Service”. Obama means to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry, and an “Interfaith Day of Service”.

The Pretender In Chief cannot have Americans remembering what really happened on 9-11-01. As a Muslim he must defuse any potential threat to his true religion and denigrate the sacrifices of those who were murdered by his brother Muslims on that tragic day.

We must not ever allow Americans to forget what happened.
