Associated Content ^ | September 9th, 2010 | Mark R. Whittington

If the White House and congressional Democrats are looking forward to the prospect of Tea Party-inspired senators and congressmen with fear and loathing, the Republican Senate leadership seems only a little less nervous.

No more of this “my respected collegue” crap when referring to communists in the Senate.
How about that for a starter?

Someone needs to teach these geezers how to govern. It’s like the GOP never managed to break the minority party mentality even when they controlled all of the marbles.

They didn’t.

The United States Senate has a culture of collegiality, of compromise and give-and-take.

No it doesn't. Collegiality, compromise, and give-and-take are exceptions to the one-party rule that usually happens.

Moderation is anything short of hanging the anti-American treasonous bastards among the Democrats and RINOs who sold us out to communism and/or globalism.

Compromise generally means, particularly to Democrats, unconditional surrender.

To govern...REPEAL....REPEAL...REPEAL and then repeal some more.

The establishment WANTS to corrupt them. Will be working on them BEFORE the election. Offering them committee slots, and telling them HOW seniority works.

Hoping that NONE of them think outside the box.

But, we have one for sure hope.

There is ONE US Senator to be, who, we know, who, we are certain, does not have to answer to the powers in Washington, because he already HAS a multimillion national fan base who is psychoticly rabid in their support for him: Dr Rand Paul.

Now, there may be issues, especially on foreign policy where his apple isn’t far from the dad’s tree and where he may be out of step with the majority, but when it comes to SANE FISCAL RESTRAINT... He will LEAD. And He will not play the game. And there is HOPE that the ODonnell’s Miller’s Buck’s and Angle’s would JOIN in that Mutiny.

I’d rather have 41 conservative Senators than 60 moderate Republican Senators. Oh yes I would. The Tea Party movement has to maintain its power in the primaries every election, not get complacent as conservatives have after every major victory in the past 40 years.

Very good insight. The insanity from a self-interest and political standpoint of the Republicans maintaining all the left wing organizations funding through the Federal government budget was amazing to me. Defund the left. Next time we have power take away their money. They are not volunteers, the political left, they are paid operatives and they don’t operate if they aren’t paid.

They, both in the Senate and the House, need to FEAR
their townhall meetings if they don’t represent those who sent them there.

Compromise with a socialist is increasing spending less, not reducing spending, at least with the wuss Republican party. My dear departed Grandmother was a lifelong Roosevelt Democrat. She listened to the fireside chats and believed every word. She sniffed out Clinton as unacceptable and voted Republican for the first time in her life. Then when the Republicans, in charge of Congress, didn’t convict him in impeachment, she went back to Democrats on the sole ground that Republicans were spineless and didn’t know how to win. She got used to winning as a Democrat and didn’t like or understand losing when the win was there with a little courage.

The new definition of compromise should be simply offering the leftists every opportunity to join the winning team.

OMG, no kidding.

Before I understood the Government Party, that address always perplexed me.

Now it makes me furious every time I hear it applied.

It should be "My reprehensible and mortal enemy".

And if you can't honestly use that form of address when speaking to a Democrat, then get the hell out of the office and let a man do the job.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Or

“the reprehensible enemies of freedom in the opposition party”....

Actually, I had the original address wrong -
they say “my esteemed colleague”

No it doesn't. Collegiality,

Yes it does have collegiality. John McCain and Lindsey preserved the collegiality of the Senate with the Gang of 14. At least that's what McCain said they were doing. So what if it cost more than 100 Bush judicial appointees, who have since been filled by Obama.
