The acrimony surrounding health care reform, stoked up to white hotness as the 2010 midterm elections draw nigh, seems to have claimed another victim, albeit an odd one: Andy Griffith, the long-living television and film star.

Andy who?
He was probably well-paid and does not care about his popularity anymore. He might be laughing all the way to the bank.
And walking over the bones of the seniors he duped on the way there.
Well it does show what a great actor he is as for many years he played a decent honorable person that loved America. Something he has never been personally.
Being from NC originally I always loved the man, now I hope he rots in h*ll forever.
If there was ever any doubt about his political ideology, just look at how his boy Opie turned out;)
Baaaaaad cracker!
A bad idea is a bad idea no matter who says it.
Yeah, I hear he was up for the lead in the new Spider Man, and was first choice for Brad Pitt’s next role. Now it’s as if he’s just an old guy who hasn’t been in anything notable in years.
Lonesome Rhodes.
Were there any conservatives in Mayberry? Andy? Nope. Barney? Probably not. Howard? Wasn’t he a Gov bureaucrat? So nope. Andy’s girlfriend Helen? School teacher - not a chance she’s conservative. Don’t ask don’t tell Floyd? No way. Gomer? He at least joined the Marines so probably met conservatives like Sargent Carter. ;-) Goober? He did run his own business and didn’t work for the Gov like Andy, Barney and Howard so maybe he’s a conservative. So surprise, surprise... all those liberals in Mayberry and they were almost all white. But of course only a liberal would place people in groups and count them. Maybe that’s what Howard’s job was. ;-)
What a dumbass.Liberals just cant help doing stupid sh!t.
“Goober? He did run his own business and didnt work for the Gov like Andy, Barney and Howard so maybe hes a conservative.”
I always wondered why the Goober’s gas station was way out of the city. Now I know. The liberal’s in Mayberry didn’t want that Eeeeeeevvviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill OIL Magnate (Goober) to destroy their Utopian dream city! It all makes sense NOW!
Poor bitter Goober, out in “flyover land” clinging to his guns and religion. All the elites of Mayberry mocked him while they kept raising his taxes. ;-)
HAHAHHAHAH!
Earnest T Bass. Southern conservative. LOL
What about Gomer?
I used to love his show. Till I found out he was a flaming lib assclown.
In an ironic twist, one of the polls confirms that a majority of voters feel passenger rail travel was faster in the 1940's than it is today.
As I wrote, he at least joined the Marines.
He was gay.
Now that you mention it, Otis was probably a conservative. In a town full of liberals - probably why he drank so much. :)
I didn’t ask and he didn’t tell. ;-)
I will never be able to watch the Andy Griffith Show ever again. I feel like a part of my childhood just died. Andy - you are such a jerk!
Andy was a big drug warrior. All he did was shut down stills.
I guess Andy is a big a nut case as Opie.
andy griffith only played Andy Taylor on tv, he has never had half the brains that were written in the script.
Yep, “Surprise, surprise!” The rumor was he and Rock Hudson were an item. It’s almost like finding out that Alice Cooper is a conservative and devout Christian.
Log Cabin Republican.
The only true conservatives were Otis and Ernest T.
There’s no fool like an old fool.
As I wrote, he at least joined the Marines.
Log Cabin Republican
Good. He’s always—ALWAYS—been a raging Lib political activist. Now more people are seeing it.
He hid behind folksy characters whose beliefs he probably despised. Now more people know what was behind the mask.
Good.
Let’s hope the same is true for Henry “The Fonz” Winkler and little Ronnie “Baseball Hat to hide the Dome” Howard.
They put together a little ad in 2008 that was oh-so-cute and heart-warming and helped to put America’s first half-black communist in the White House.
LMAO!!
I’m just glad Edgar Buchanan didn’t live to see this. (Uncle Joe on Petticoat Junction...)
He is probably influenced by Ron Howard, a know Lib.
Briscoe Darling and family. Those boys were Capitalists who regularly turned corn, sugar and molasses into a more valuable commodity. Heck, they even sang about it.

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke;
What the hell could possibly go wrong?
I don't know about Gomer, but I wonder about Andy.
There was one episode in which Opie has one of his young friends there for a sleepover and as they are getting ready for bed, Andy comes in and convinces the boy to sleep with him instead of Opie. Strange.
Gomer was the featured act at the county fair where I lived about 20 yrs. ago. People did not have much of an issue with him, but the whole town was about ready to kill his obnoxious significant other.
...But don’t sing “Let me be your salty dog” because it makes the baby, or me, cry. LOVED Denver Pyle on the jug.
These days I have at least some respect for anyone in that business who keeps their personal politics (and preference of bedroom company) to themselves. He's now retired to Hawaii and owns a macadamia nut farm. Certainly not anyone who should be chased down for a "citizen's arrest!". Andy Griffith, on the other hand ....
Rumor has it that he is one unfriendly, nasty, guy. You know how it goes with elitist liberals like Andy,
Iv’e got mine. Now gimme yours.
That is totally funny and true......
My cousin sent me that one, couldn’t resist, it is so perfect for o’nazicare threads.
