After living around the county for decades, I finally came back to my home state - and FINALLY bought a house in the woods. I should've done it many years before I did.
My little abode is surrounded by forest - but it's still not far enough 'out' for me.
I grew up further 'up north' in my state - lotsa bear and moose, few people then. Fewer now. I would be very content to go back up there and dig in for the duration...I'd like to at least have a good hunk of land with plenty of 'fire wood' to leave my kids/grandkids. If you have a hunk of land, trees for firewood, and water - you can survive. And we are tottering on the fence as a free society. Hope we fall the right way. No matter what, a hunk of land is better than stocks and bonds or 401K's (in the meantime, I'm 'hoarding' REAL light bulbs ;o)...)
