There is nothing demeaning about being a cotton picker....there were black and white pickers working side by side on struggling farms in rural areas. Cotton and tobacco built this nation before the industrial revolution.

I just watched a program on the “Cotton Gin” and they showed cotton pickers and the ones they showed were white
people of all colors did manual labor including my grandfather and grandmother

Or eating fried chicken or watermelon, or dancing and playing the banjo. Doesn’t stop them from being stereotypical.
