Mr. President,
When you speak to the troops tomorrow at Fort Bliss, and to the nation tomorrow night from the Oval Office, you speak, of course, as the president. As our president.
You won't be speakingnot in these settingsas a once (and perhaps future) candidate for president. Nor as the leader of the Democratic Party. Nor as a critic of your predecessor's foreign policy. You are all of those things, of coursebut it is not in those capacities that you speak to the troops at Fort Bliss, and to the nation from the Oval Office.
So my sincere hopeand it is sincere, with no political agenda (for what it's worth, I think following the advice I'm about to give would help you politically)is that you don't begin your remarks tomorrow night, as you did your weekly address Saturday, by taking credit for fulfilling a campaign promise. Your oath as president was to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States," and it is in that capacity that you now make foreign policy judgments, not as a former candidate keeping well- or ill-considered campaign promises.

Oh, please, Kristol. You know what he’s going to say.
I had to check to see if this was from The Onion.
” When you speak tomorrow, you might also do what you neglected to do Saturday:
You might praise General Ray Odierno, who, with General David Petraeus, turned the war in Iraq around ...”
“ I trust you will alsoas you didn’t Saturdaypraise the Iraqis who fought and died alongside us.
And I trust you willby contrast with Saturday
spend more time praising our servicemen and women for their performance and their valor,...”
“ My bottom line is this, Mr. President:
When you speak tomorrow, speak for America. “
Barry took credit for cutting and running on Saturday,
neglected to thank General Odierno and General Petraeus, neglected to properly thank the troops
and the Iraqis who fought with our troops.
And didn’t speak like he represented America.
Gee, what a surprise...
You don’t need to be psychic to predict that his teleprompter speech will be an extravaganza of Barry taking credit
for everything good in Iraq
and throwing cheap shots at George Bush ,
like he did yesterday in New Orleans.
New Orleans today, Fort Bliss tomorrow. When does he go back to washington??
More flights,
he spends more time in the air than a sattellite.
Afraid to land for long. Poison where he lands. Like a housefly. Lord of the Flies.
That is to say, HE poisons where he lands.
“The more we lose, the more Steinbrenner will fly in. And the more he flies, the better the chance there will be a plane crash.”
-Craig Nettles, regarding New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner
Why do they keep calling it the Democratic Party? Democratic is an adjective. It’s the Democrat Party. They’re not Democratics, they’re Democrats.
Please take note Billy Kristol (and any other self important blowhard) - NEVER has been, NEVER will be, my president.
I’ve bought a new Vince Flynn book, got a bottle of coffee brandy (and ice) ready ... IPod with Diana Krall all lined up and recharged. It’s going to be a helluva Tuesday night. And Øbama ain’t on my personal schedule. Why would ANYBODY even watch this crap ... you can read about it the next day.??
