NC is an individual story ... the incumbent Dems generally do a good job piling up conservative votes when it won't affect the outcome, the districts are gerrymandered, and the GOP bench is weak. Democrats have controlled the state for over 100 years and NC hasn't yet had the breakthrough most other Southern states have. That breakthrough is likely coming this year, but to take the NC House, Senate, AND a couple of congressional districts is a lot to handle with only so much $$ to go around.
McIntyre and fellow Democrats Larry Kissell and Bob Etheridge should all be on the chopping block this year; especially McIntyre. Pantano is a superb candidate and I’m surprised that he’s not on your list.
Thanks for the ping!
...for those interested. :D
Here in Kentucky, some of the local media have been reporting recently
that Ben Chandler is in real danger of being knocked off by Andy Barr,
his Republican opponent.
short / concise.
Thanks again! Great work.
You've made an excellent point.
Thanks for the update ping. I’m trying not to get too excited...yet, but simply cannot help myself!
Thanks for the Ping.

NC11 RCP has moved Heath Schuler into Toss Up (Must be in response to Congressman Billybob in Heaven.)
CO-7 might move off the Tier 2 with this poll
I also look for Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks to move. FReep mail me with Cook,Rothenberg and Sabato’s e-mail addys I’d like to ask them about these races.
Thanks. I fixed it on the spreadsheet and updated the Master List.
NC-11. One more Toss-Up or Leans D and this one will go on the Master List.
CO-7 Could be the next one.

Thanks Pete! We truly love Col Chris Gibson up here in NY20.
Have you seen this tidbit from Victor Davis Hanson?
“A Most unusual person”
“I dont get involved in the particulars of promoting political candidates.....But in New Yorks 20th Congressional District this year one of the rarest individuals I have ever met.....if we are going to save the country, we need leaders like Gibson, who has always lived the life he advocates.....”

Hate to have to admit it, but WV is most likely NOT a toss up. Primary yesterday. Joe Manchin-D 49,961 out of a total of 90,600 votes. John Raese-R 38,119 out of a total of 53,372 votes. John has the money and the talent, but in state elections, WV just simply always goes Dem. They go R in national elections. Go figure. We will go to the mat for John, but it’s going to be an uphill climb. We sure could use Sarah down here.
Well you’ll have KeyHouseRaces on your side. And this is our year so work hard and maybe WV will wake up.
I got Rush Limbaugh's TV show from that night somewhere around here on VHS. It was a prize.
We could use a replay.
You are the Best!!!
Four House Dems looking very vulnerable after posting weak fundraising numbers;from
The four are Rep. Travis Childers (D-Miss.), Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-Md.), Rep. Harry Teague (D-N.M.), and Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-W.V.)
And the hits just keep on comming/
Hultgren lacks the 2 major flaws of Obie. He will run a good campaign.
Obie created a mean-spirited image of himself that started with his helicopter over Soldier Field ad and culminated in a HRCC ad in the special election that said Foster was FOR CITIZENSHIP, Oberweiss was AGAINST CITIZENSHIP. Citizenship is a good thing for which you get gold stars and blue ribbons. Those ads were terrible.
Obie wrapped himself in Hastert. Don’t underestimate how much Hastert accumulated negatives: Corruption, wasteful spending. More than Bush himself, Hastert was the symbol of what was wrong with the Bush era.
But the real test for all Republicans, including Hulgren, is whether they move their supporters from cheering spectators in the stands to players in the game who will knock on their neighbors door and ask their neighbor to vote for their friend Hultgren ... or Kinsinger or whomever they are supporting.
Thousands will attend RightNation2010 at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. Will the result of that event be the placement of a precinct poll list in the hand of each attendee with instructions on how to work a precinct? Or will the result be a warm feeling in one’s heart ... a temporary high?
Meanwhile, you can be sure SEIU/IEA/Acorn types will be very effective in grassroots organizing. Who gets the most voters to the polls on Election Day October 12 wins.
