JD thanked McCain in his concession speech. McCain spent millions painting JD as something he wasn’t, even before JD got into the race, the dirt tricks from McCain in this race would have made any democrat proud, I don’t blame JD, he kept it clean while he was royally smeared. Too bad McCain didn’t run for POTUS with the same gusto.

I am so sick of the dirty intra-party politics. Ever since the SC primary in ‘00, McCain has been so full of hate for Bush and those who supported him then. Far more than he’s ever hated his VN prison guards.

I think much of McCain’s stab-’em-in-the-back behavior since can be traced right back to SC. It WAS dirty, really dirty. And I’ve always felt “W” should have apologized personally, privately, to McC for what was done to him and his family ostensibly on Bush’s behalf.

So McCain’s carrying on that tradition of trashing a primary opponent is particularly unfortunate.

But as it relates to the present situation, it’s not McCain whose lack of protocol is in question, but JD’s. I’d have hoped he’d have been a bigger man, if for nothing else his own political future. The comment in his concession speech alone is not in the American political tradition, and he knows it better than anyone.
