Chances are that by now you've heard about the Aug. 19, 2010, Pew poll that found that nearly one fifth of Americans (mistakenly) believe that President Obama is a Muslim. Perhaps you think that a terrifying outlier; or perhaps you're a believer, and then you are in good company. Either way, you're wrong: in fact, remarkably high numbers of Americans believe the most unusual things. Although the portion of poll respondents who believe Obama is a Muslim has risen recently, some of these oddball opinions contain more consistent numbers of believers. Here's a sampling of the nuttiest.

Newsweak is promoting the false left-wing agenda by calling anyone who does not buy the left's ideals, dumb and ignorant.

Some of the words they use in the very first paragraph to describe anyone they disagree with include:

One of the dumb things that we ignorant stupid Americans actually believe is that WMD materials were actually found in Iraq.

Coming from a magazine that was recently sold for $1, less than the news stand price for a single copy of their rag, what can you expect but this drivel.

As for Obama being a Muslim, by the very definitions of the Islamic faith he is one. He was born of a Muslim father and in attending a Muslim school in Indonesia said the daily prayers that are a reaffirmation of his being a Muslim. That he has subsequently become an apostate doesn't change his status.

As for the Obama/Muslim thing, my Pastor says, from the pulpit, that he's possibly a Muslim and that his sympathies certainly are with the Muslims as opposed to Christians. We had a visiting Minister Sunday night who flatly stated that Obama was indeed a Muslim. My belief is that Obama is absolutely nothing when it comes to religion. Not necessarily atheist, just a big nothing, it fits right in with his presidency.

“America” (knew) Obama was a Muslim when he ran for president of the United States - he alluded to his “Muslim faith” to George Stephanopoulous in front of millions of us on Sunday Morning just 2 weeks or so before the election.

America elected him anyway despite his utter lack of any qualification for the post.
