...Adds Kenneth Katzman, an Iranian-military expert with the Congressional Research Service: "It is likely to have virtually no actual military value."
The gold-colored, 13-ft. (4 m) drone appears to be powered by a single turbojet engine with a 250-lb. (110 kg) bomb slung underneath its belly. It purportedly can carry a bomb weighing up to 450 lb. (200 kg) and has a range of about 600 miles (960 km), which is still short of reaching Israel. The design has left U.S. experts scratching their heads. ...According to a piece by Michael Ledeen in the Wall Street Journal, the Iranian air force securing the site of the controversial Bushehr nuclear reactor recently shot down what it thought were three enemy drones. The drones had been deployed by another sector of the Iranian military - but no one had bothered to tell the country's air force about the project...

I doubt they could if they tried.
I wonder how many of thier own were injured from the AK rounds fired in the air in celebration?

LOL!
You can probably buy something better at Radio Shack, but you’ll have to give them your name, address and phone number even if you pay cash.
There Advertising slogan, "It's a most unusual store"
I give it two thumbs up just for it’s name.
I would change my band’s name to “Ambassadors of Death”, except I don’t have a band.

*************
I figure that already there are probably two or three guilds in World of Warcraft with this name, it is such an uber, leet-speak name of serious awesomeness.
I thought this was going to be a question about Barack Obama.
If it does work that does not mean that Isreal is the target, the target could be bahgdad, or US Bases in Iraq or Afghanistan, as well as Irans other neighbors.
*chuckle*. good one.
“I would change my bands name to Ambassadors of Death, except I dont have a band.”
That’s pretty good. “Gorganzola and the Mob” wasn’t working out for us anyway.
Iran wants a shore to ship missile threat to challenge the dominance of our Navy.
Of far greater note is Irans recently tested Qiam missile. In it they tested a new guidance system eventually intended for their Sejil missile system.
The Qiam is a modified Scud...with no fins for guidance. That means it can be housed in a silo or container or sub.......
So, Ahm-A-Nutjob is actually the Iranian code name for the 3 stooges!! Or, at the very least, the head of their "air force"!!
The stats on most deaths and damage caused by either V-1’s vs V-2’s was V-1’s. V2’s were silent as they dropped over London and dug a deep hole where they exploded. This drone, which is not good news, can be delivered and deployed under wing. Anybody remember the “Hustler” ? Both were terror type (anti-civilian) weapons. V-1’s being cheaper was an effective weapon and did divert needed attention from the tactical to defensive.
“which is still short of reaching Israel”
No worries. It will land on the heads of muslims who will still blame Israel for the “attack”.
>>>”Iran: How Effective Is Ahmadinejad’s New Drone? (A: It’s lame.)”
It is Not Ahmadinejad’s New Drone. It is the Islamic Regime’s New Drone (aka IRI).
Ahmadinejad is the front man, Not the the Head of State, nor the Constitution of IRI.
It is simply one way of extending their air force. Crude yes, but produced in numbers it can be used to saturate a target. They have already exhibited it carrying their Kowsar anti-ship missiles.

Their only aim if attacked is to lash out. They have enough anti-ship missiles to cause a real head-ache for any naval force deployed. That is why they have geared their forces for this type of saturation attack in an attempt to close the straits of Hormuz and inflict damage to a US/Coalition target.
