I thought members of the Unification Church had ALWAYS owned the Washington Times.

These days, sadly, it’s little more than a pamphlet. The Washington Post rules as DC’s “serious” paper...very unfortunately.

Lots of nominally conservative media properties and think tanks are owned lock-stock-and-barrel by strange bedfellows like the Moonies.

I sometimes wonder if it all amounts to a more sophisticated and varied version of Orwell's "The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism" by Emmanuel Goldstein from Nineteen Eighty-Four.
