Author of ObamaCare Dem Senator Max Baucus Admits He Never Read the Bill
Weasel Zippers ^ | August 24, 2010

Are you effin kidding me?…Judy Matott asked Baucus...and Sebelius, “if either of you read the health care bill before it was passed and if not, that is the most despicable, irresponsible thing.”

Baucus... took credit for “essentially” writing the health care bill that passed the Senate.

“I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill. You know why? It’s statutory language,” Baucus said. “We hire experts.”

In response to another woman asking if the health care law was Constitutional, Baucus gave a broad defense of the changes, comparing them to programs like Social Security and Medicare that were unpopular when passed but have proven beneficial to Americans over the long term.

“It’s not perfect, nothing’s perfect, but I’m telling you, ma’am, it’s a good start,” Baucus said. “Mark my words, several years from now you’re going to look back and say, ‘eh, maybe it isn’t so bad.’”

“Don’t think so,” Matott replied....

"We hire experts." Allow me to translate. The "experts" are legislative counsel to the senators more often than not FRESH OUT OF LAW SCHOOL with a liberal agenda to move forward and a resume to burnish before going on to K Street. In other words, no one older than 30 and no one with any real life experience of ANYTHING wrote the bill, and dim bulb Baucus has inadvertently spilled the beans.

Congress Ranks Last in Confidence in Institutions

PRINCETON, NJ — Gallup’s 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year.

(Excerpt)

None of them did. Remember “we have to pass the bill to see what is in the bill” from Pelousy? What about Rangel? They are all tools. Simple minded tools. Or is that fools?

I would give anything if we could get term limits. That is the only thing that will ever stop the entitlement mentality of elected officials.

Of course NO ONE has read ANY of these monster bills in their entirety. Some of the bills recently passed including Obamacare, FinReg, Markey-Waxman (Cap and Tax which has passed in the House), and the Porkulus are all over 2,000 pages long a piece. More pages than the Bible and War and Peace combined.

Think about it: Baucus believes he is too important, and his time is too valuable, to READ LEGISLATION THAT HE HAS PUT HIS NAME ON. To me he is nearing the pinnacle of arrogance. I have been convinced he is a dumb $hit for years, someone who, without his family’s money, would have never been or done anything. The only thing I can’t figure out is why Montana keeps re-electing him. He must have a wonderful constituent service office.

“We hire experts” is exactly why term limits will not work. The ‘experts’ run things, not the elected officials.

If you want to change the way Congress works, amend the Constitution so that any bill up for vote must be read into the Congressional Record by an elected member of the appropriate house. Word for word. That will put an end to the 1500 page bills that are passed without being read.

“We hire experts”

ALLOW ME to translate:

I will be running again for a seat in Congress.
The “expert” will have come & gone & is not accountable.

Therefore, I can claim no part of the writing of the bill, etc.......

More smoke & mirrors from the entire Congress & the White House.

Except that he hired the “experts,” and so he is responsible for what they do. He is trying to have it both ways.

"I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill [that I 'wrote' - wink, wink]."

What do you think Joe Blow's chances would be if he tried that as a defense in federal court?

What a fat, lazy @#$%!!
I don't understand how any self-respecting j/a would vote for this jerk to be their senator!
