It doesn't really matter where Steele stands. If he were a politician he would be keeping the pressure on the Democrats:

Lack of immigration law enforcement is a reflection on the entire Democrat party.

Republicans need mantras as well. Even more Americans disagree with this Democrat position than would actually support SB1070. [I am an Arizona resident who fully supports SB1070!]

Exactly. The next time they call me, I’m gonna say, call back after you’ve gotten rid of the rino Steele and then we’ll talk.

I tried to watch the video at the link but they replaced the audio with Spanish the interpretation of the interview.

When Steele is asked about stuff like this he needs to answer by talking about Hispanic unemployment rates being so high and tell them that is Democrats plan. Asked about immigration, he should work unemployment into it.

As far as him answering the question about Arizona law, he should have said it is ‘already’ federal law.

Steele like McCain and Bush and many others here most likely believe amnesty is a way of getting Hispanic voters.

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele refused to embrace Arizona's controversial immigration law Tuesday during an interview with Univision, the country's largest Spanish-language television network.

Political cowardice is NOT a winning strategy. Steele is demonstrating the best of political cowardice . . . . . . . and the reason that people are abandoning the GOP by the boatload to support the Tea Party.

This should put a damper on the “GOP Tsunami” folks.

With leadership like Steele’s the ‘Pubbies will be lucky to pickup ANY seats.

The way to get Hispanic votes is with conservative Hispanic candidates - like Marco Rubio.

Amnestized illegals will most certainly vote Democrat - if they bother to voet at all.

Probably a lot of them will return home eventually, leading to yet ANOTHER Democrat scam involving absentee votes rfom retired amnestized illegals.

Every time I see one of these Steele opens his big mouth and inserts foot, I am always waiting for those here who thought he was the greatest to come back and defend him.

Those of us who lived in Maryland at the time tried to tell them that Steele was no prize, that he was a RINO at best and that sooner or later he would play the race card when critized. He is a RINO and he did play the race card.

Now, mark my words once again, he will not leave until he is forced out, and at this time I see no one who can force him out.

Michael is so incredibly obtuse. He used to be retty good subbing for Bill Bennett, but he’s gone off the deep end as RNC chair.
