But the point is still true that GOP control of congress, in and of itself, doesn’t mean very much. I think we’ll be declaring victory in Nov. 2010 and realizing our defeat in Nov. 2011.

We need to prepare ourselves for a multi-year effort with the GOP trying to sabotage it all the way.

Who cares about the RNC idiots. We are bypassing them.

That's the point to TEApublicanism - taking back the GOP, and then turning it into a weapon for use against the Dimocrats.

Going third party, however, is the cowardly fool's way out. It is an active attempt to get around the hard work of restoring the GOP. But the irony is, starting a (successful) third party from the ground up would be infinitely more work than merely recapturing the existing framework of the Republican Party. If these third partyists are already too lazy to plug away at the one, what makes us think they'll have any staying power to do the other?

Unless the Witches from the North are made irrelevant, there will be no real control. There must be adequate votes to make consider those two as really Democrats.

“We need to prepare ourselves for a multi-year effort with the GOP trying to sabotage it all the way.”

One area we can win is local government. The national GOP ignores local races, and we can vote conservative office holders into city and county councils, judgeships and county sheriffs.

That establishes a political base from which to launch attacks on state and national offices. From this base, we can organize, find leadership and plan attacks to take back the country. Local governments can create serious chaos in the liberal’s machinery. The federal fascists don’t have the manpower and the resources to put out a thousand brushfires.

You are completely correct. In fact, I think a GOP win will help Obama get reelected in 2012 - if that's what he wants to do. The GOP will be the scapegoat for the dems failure - and as always - they will not fight it. They are part of the problem.
