Dean: If Dems Lose, It's Obama's Fault

Dean: If Dems Lose, It's Obama's Fault BY John McCormack August 22, 2010 3:29 PM

Via The Hill, former DNC chairman and Vermont governor Howard Dean ripped into the Obama White House this morning on CNN and said that the Democrats' fate in the midterm elections rests on Obama's shoulders. Asked about Obama's bad poll numbers, Dean said:

I think that we are in tough times in America. We have got an unemployment rate that's over 9 percent. We have got, you know, people who are still making a zillion dollars on Wall Street while the average person thinks that they are doing great, and how come, since they were the ones that screwed up the economy, we're not -- we're where we are. There's a lot of resentment. It's a tough time.

But the key number is whether people still like the president or not, and I think they do. And I think that we are going to be in much better shape than most of the Washington pundits think we are, on the Democratic side. Because the president's out there fighting every day. This election, for better or for worse, depends on how hard the president fights between now and Election Day, and he shows every sign that he's really serious about this.

While Dean praises Obama for showing "every sign" he's going to fight and set the right tone, the former Democratic presidential hopeful seems to be laying the predicate for blaming Obama if the Democrats lose the House.

Obama himself has said that he would save the Democrats from a 1994-style wipeout. "Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me," Obama said, according to Democratic representative Marion Berry. But that was back in January. Dean's comments now are contrary to current spin of Obama's allies that the economy will determine the outcome of the election.

On CNN this morning, Dean went on to attack the Obama White House (but not Obama himself, Dean assures us) for being out of touch:

I think that the people around the president have really misjudged what goes on elsewhere in the country, other than Washington, D.C.

I don't think this is true of the president, but I do think his people, his political people, have got to go out and spend some time outside Washington for a while. The average Democrat is a progressive. And, you know, there are some things that are upsetting about the kind of deals that were made by the president's people on health care.

But I think this is the time to put that stuff behind us. We've got to win this election. And we're going to have -- after the election is over, we'll go back to having our policy fights, but this is about winning. You cannot get anything done unless you have a Democratic president and a Democratic Senate and a Democratic House.

Sure sounds like Dean has a bone to pick with Obama. Could it be, as the boss predicted last week, that Dean will primary Obama?

Yes it will be Bush’s fault, because people will have realized that they miss him.

""Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me,"

F'ing arrogant POS...

I cannot wait until he is taken down a few dozen pegs or so. Hopefully in an orange jumpsuit complete with shackles, charged with treason along with his co-conspirators, Reid, Pelosi, Emanuel, Frank, etc., etc...

Why Howard? Isn’t it Democrats who authored the horrid legislation that he signed into law?

Hey Dumb A$$ Dean:

Czar B.O. did not cast one vote in the Congress to pass the Socialist legislation that is the essence of the Democrap Party! Those initiatives have been festering in a file caninet at the DNC for the last quarter century.

That is how the Democraps were able to introduce the aged documents in the first weeks of B.O.'s occupation of the White House!

The present economic condition of our country is the direct reult of the essence of the Democrap Party, i.e., PRACTICING THE POLITICS OF FEAR, DIVISION, AND HATRED!

There is no love lost between Dean and most dems, especially Obama. Love seeing them eating their own.

I see Dean’s comments as an opening for Hillary as after the election bloodbath this November many Democrats will be looking for someone other than Obama to run in 2012.

zer0 shoved dean to the back of the bus, so dean wants to drive that bus back over zer0. It's a rat fight, anything I can do to help, like keeping them stirred up around me I will. Demoralize, break there spirit, point out the hopeless situation rats are facing, laugh in their faces.

Obama is far and away the most arrogant person who has ever occupied the Presidency...and with the least justification for it.

Clinton may be a sociopath and a rogue but he's superficially charming...Obama lacks that. Maybe he seems likeable to people who agree with him on virtually everything and enjoy his taunting and demeaning of anyone who disagrees with him but I don't see how his behavior attracts anyone not already on his side.

He's the most mean-spirited President ever, and it takes some doing to surpass Jimmy Carter in that area.

Amen. I LOVE watching the RATS eat their own. And they CONSISTENTLY do it, ad infinitum, when things go south for them. They make it a personal failing of an individual, NOT that their policies and thinking are wrong. It couldn’t POSSIBLY be that now, could it? {;- )

Leads to endless entertainment.

This is the 2nd time. Dean has come out harshly against Obama.

The Leftists in America have a pathological drive to ‘change’ America. Their misguided psychology compels them to believe that they are somehow more ‘correct’, they are more ‘good’ and ‘fair’ than ordinary people.

But even the Left is coming to realize that Obama does not want to ‘change’ America. He wants to destroy America.

Obama has caused even the Leftists to ‘question his patriotism’. And trust me, that takes a lot of doing.

I said this on another thread, but it applies here as well:

The FAR Left believes exactly like we on the far right believe.

We believe that MOST of America is Conservative and that we’d WIN more seats if we ran further to the right and promised to CUT spending and LOWER taxes and END the anti Christian raping of our moral standards.

The FAR left thinks that America is Progressive and they’d win MORE seats if they ran Harder to the LEFT and Raised taxes on the rich and big corporations and increased spending on Education and if we could get past our bigotry and understand and embrace homosexuality and Abortion.

They REALLY and I am not being sarcastic... Know what I am saying... they REALLY think that Obama is UNPOPULAR because he “bailed out the rich banks” and “Mandated people BUY healthcare” and hasn’t YET let the WikiLeaks Fags roam free in the Army.

Really.

He is 1/4 right too.

The FAR left HATES Obama for being Bush III.

They do.

They will be STAYING HOME for many races.

Many Code Pink LibTards would rather vote Republican than let these Dems get away with Betraying them.

Take one minute and find the EMOTION you have for John McCain and then UNDERSTAND that is how the far Left feels about Obama.

Imagine if McCain had WON and was borrowing billions and making deals with the Dems in Congress... and was really a VERY center governing do nothing.... How motivated would YOU be to HELP Jonh McCain elect MORE Lindsey Grahams to the congress?

So when Dean says these things... NOW you will understand WHAT he is saying and Why.

I think the Dhimmis will get blown out, maybe not as bad as 94, but it will be bad.

My worry is that the GOP has weak leadership. There is no Newt Gingrich to lead an army. When you think about, the GOP actually did fulfill its Contract with America and accomplished a lot between 94-01.

However, if the GOP becomes a party of no instead of a party of ideas, Obama can triangulate like Clinton.

But the thing about Obama is that he so arrogant and out of touch, he will keep doing the same thing over and over again just to spite the American people.

There will be no “the era of big government is over” speech.

If anything, he will go in the opposite direction. That is in his elite liberal nature.

My biggest worry is that the US will turn into California where every politician is worthless and nothing gets accomplished as the ship of state sinks like the Titanic.
