They are greedy millionaires. They only look after themselves and exert influence over the political system to suit their own ends. But they are also scroungers who have sucked the state dry. A ‘time bomb’ who are ‘robbing us all blind’. They unite the right and left in hatred. Bankers? The Jews? Get with the programme: this year’s national scapegoats are the baby boomers.

Of course, blaming baby boomers for all society's ills is the perfect justification for denying them Social Security benefits and health care in their golden years. That fits neatly with the politicians' desire to keep its ponzi schemes going as long as they can. Having a scapegoat always helps.

Nobody on the right, nor in the center has suggested denying Boomers anything. Just not giving them things on the taxpayer expense.

Perfectly fair. If the boomers wanted social security funds removed from the general budget and invested, they had and still have the power to make that happen. They didn't give a crap, so there is zero reason for any other generation to give a crap either. Most boomers have other money. A lot of them didn't raise their kids, and consequently will recieve zero help from them (even the ones they didn't suck into a sink) in their dotage, but they brought that on too.

Before you bich and whine at me for correcting you on your self centered egotism...I would be technically a Boomer Too. My kids don't owe me on any other older person crap, given the bankrups society they are inheriting.

Wow, lighten up! It is not correct to lump people together in generations anyway. I hate the practice of labeling people based on when they were born, as if they are all clones.

No, I don’t want our kids and grandkids to have to continue in the ponzi scheme that is SS, but the boomers are going to be the first ones to have paid into the system far more than they will receive. Government is what pits groups against each other.

As for whiners, I think there are plenty of those to go around in every age group.
