COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Admittedly wary of losing touch, President Barack Obama returned to the comfort of backyard politics on Wednesday, assuring a polite gathering of middle-class neighbors that the economy is coming around "slowly but surely."

At the brick-and-shingle house of the Weithman family, Obama's questioners showed no interest in the divisive midterm elections or other matters gobbling up the political debate.

Grass-roots fail.

He means the big government union economy as he borrows and borrows and borrows.

Anything for union donations, right?

the economy is coming around "slowly but surely."

This statement is every bit as stupid, if not more stupid, than his Mosque statement and sort of maybe, wink-wink, flip-flop following.

And, if anything, the ludicrous nature of this statement is even more damning in the eyes of the voters.

The questioners didn’t ask anything about the mid-term elections? And why is that AP? Could it be because these were hand-picked Democrat zombies?

President Barack Hussein Obama meant that the economy is turning away from a brief, incipient recovery—characterized by negative actual economic growth and escalating unemployment—back into a long, severe, grinding recession. The period of “recovery” lasted longer than President Obama anticipated, so he noted that our economy only “slowly but surely” now progresses back into recession. President Obama hoped that the Congress would pass the “cap and trade” bill last year; this bill promises to cap long-term average economic growth at -4% (negative four percent) while enriching billionaire bankers who contribute to Democrat politicians and further depleting the abyss in the federal Treasury.

He looks around. Michelle’s able to go to Spain and spend big bucks for many days. He can fly all over and play golf and take vacation after vacation. His kids are in private school. Where’s the problem?

I had to back up my DVR and listen again when he said this:

“What we’re trying to do is create a ‘virtuous’ cycle where people start feeling better about the economy” and “we get a little bit of stronger each day”

And this guy is supposed to be the most intelligent president ever!
