Mayor Bloomberg talks gun control with Sestak
The Hill ^ | 08/17/10 | Sean J. Miller

Posted on 08/18/2010 12:00:04 PM PDT by neverdem

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was at a strip mall in north Philadelphia on Tuesday to help Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) appeal to independents in his run for Senate.

But the visit may have ended up helping Sestak only with his base. During his speech, Bloomberg said he backed, among other things, Sestak's push to close a loophole in gun-control laws, according to Fox 29. The remark wasn't included in a release the Sestak camp sent out with quotes from Bloomberg.

"I'm not a particularly partisan guy," the mayor told Fox 29 after the endorsement event. "I'm supporting people from both the major parties, Democrats and Republicans."

Bloomberg said he backs people who "look at the issues, rather than what the party leadership tell them."

More Bloomberg blather about the gun show loophole is supposed to help Sestak with independents? What were Bloomberg and Sestak thinking?

“Gun show loophole:” still being able to exercise your God-given rights without letting Big Brother know.

Consider this an in-kind contribution to Toomey. Bloomberg’s endorsement and him spouting off about gun control with Sestak present can only hurt him in Pennsylvania.

No questions put to Sestak on why he lied about Billy Jeff being the one to offer him a job if he dropped out of the race?

Yeah. We should talk about the “Blogging Loophole” in Speech Control statutes...

Nah. Better not give them any ideas.

BANG! This is more about Bloomberg's ego and the stupidity of Sestak's campaign, IMHO. Nitwits!

Bloomie’s another elite new-world-order type who figures if America get weaker, then him and his billionaire buddies will get more powerful.

You are precisely correct.
Description that I've heard for that state is "Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA in between!"

Wow, in Pennsylvania being anti-gun will only get you in trouble whether you are a Republican or a Democrat. Bloomie does not grasp Pa politics and stepped into it for Sestack. That may be Sestack’s position, but I doubt he talks about it on the campaign trail. It’s a non starter in this state.

I will recycle this recent post of mine:

Bloomers is a Crony-capiatalist, nebbish, poor little rich boy, self hating jew, tiny buttwipe of a man...the only reason he is probably not a fag (the jury is still out) is that he has the greatest aphrodisiac of all time, billions of dollars....he decries the 2nd amendment, but whines about how the enemy’s first amendment rights to worship are being usurped....even though Islam is NOT a religion but a murder cult...

This is a takeoff from the James Carville quote about Pennsylvania. You have Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and Alabama in between. I've also heard us referred to as Pennsyltucky.... as in Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

Ben Stein: Have Gun, Will Travel (Great speech on 4th webpage, Sestak offered Secy of Navy job)

Assuming the rats lose the House in November, there could be interesting hearings in the next Congress.

It is amusing that Bloomy things the 1st Amendment is sacrosanct and must be honored for a muzzy musk on Hallowed ground but the 2nd Amendment is something to be ignored.

And we'll be living up to it next year when the annual NRA convention comes back to Pittsburgh. I can't wait. It's a fun event to go to.

We can hope, but my belief is that whether we win a majority of one vote or 65 the House will spend the next two years being lectured by John McCain and Lindsey Graham to 'moderate' their speech and tone done the rhetoric. The GOP House Leadership will do a great deal of tsk, tsk, tsking. Now, if Michelle Bachman runs for Speaker in a GOP 55+ Seat Majority and wins - you might see some testosterone being exuded and the resulting hearings you mentioned here.

Regards,

TS

It may help Sestak in Philly, but that won’t play as well out in the Pittsburgh burbs.
