-—”Where is that McPalin magic?
From what I could tell her in California, McPalin endorses the woman, not the conservative.”-—
As has been pointed out several times of FR, Palin has endorsed almost 2 times as many men as women. Her endorsees have lost a couple of close races lately, but to candidates who are also pretty conservative. In some cases, she has taken up otherwise hopeless causes to pump a Conservative candidate (Joe Miller in AK, Clint Didier in WA, Nikki Haley in SC); one won, one lost, one race has yet to happen.
-—”Did she choose not to endorse Ken Buck because Jane Norton is a woman and wouldnt speak out against her, or because she was Juan McCains hand-picked RINO?”-—
She probably chose not to get involved in that race because - despite the fact that Buck openly bad-mouthed Sarah Palin and Tea Partiers on TV (withour cause, mind you) and in interviews - he seemed to be the more Conservative candidate. Buck probably eliminated himself from an endorsement with his notoriously big mouth.
Palin opposed McCain supported candidates in WA, AK, GA, SC, and several other races. She did support Carly Fiorina over Tom Campbell (and the candidate I favored, Chuck DeVore), which is only because Tom Campbell was running away with the race, and he’s not even right-wing enough to be a RINO. Better Fiorina than Campbell, by a MILE.
Thanks to Palin’s endorsments, several House races have produced Conservative candidates where RINOs were expected to win. Thanks to Palin’s endorsements, Tom Campbell will not be on the ballot in CA in November, Pro-Choice Kay Bailey Hutchinson is not the Gubernatorial nominee in TX, Susanna Martinez is the nominee in NM, and Lisa Murkowski will have to fend-off a Conservative challenger in AK.
I hope she “sticks her nose” in a heck of a lot more races.
Honestly, the only candidate a McPalin endorsement actually helps is McPalin.
So are you actually trying to convince us that McCain is the more conservative candidate than JD? How stupid do you and McPalin think we all are?
Really stupid if you derived that from anything I said.
Nobody’s perfect - heck, Jim DeGrahamnesty just stuck his neck out for Dino Rossi, and I still think ol’ Jim is an asset. Go figure.
Sarah's moved the 2010 GOP races to the right, cumulatively. That's a good thing, even with the McCain endorsement blemish on her record.
My concern with McPalin and her 0bamaesque cult following has always been that she is a pied piper.
But to the extent that she can help America beat back 0bama fascism, good on her.
I just don’t see her as making a difference. She tends to swoop in at the last minute and “endorse” the candidate who is most likely to win. It’s a political game career politicans play when they have their eye on a promotion. It’s called “racking up favors to call in later.”
Tennessee and Michigan Governor yes. Really sucks for the people of those states, they desperately need good Governors.
But Indiana Senate no. Coats is establishment, over the hill ect ect but he’s not a RINO, his voting record was good. He’s Jesse Helms compared to Dick Lugar.
Nearly anything is better than that dreadful skinny Lugar.
Thanks Steelers6.
