Ahhh. Why do you say the audiences are liberal? When my kids were younger and watching wrestling i took them to a number of matches. I couldn’t discern a leaning either way.

Schiff is a good guy and smart too.

Primary's over, and frankly, I'm kinda glad Schiff lost. The more I see of him on social issues, the more of a RINO he turns out to be. Just say no to RINOs!

Schiff was a one issue candidate who was pro abortion and believed the downturn in the economy by itself would solve the illegal alien problem.

Here is a person spending 22 mil of her own cash to get a senate seat that pays what?

She is willing to spend $50 million. People get upset if candidates uses taxpayer's money to run a campaign or if candidates spend their own money. It's a no win situation .

That’s to bad that she is winning due to her money.

Mark another RINO down????

What good are primaries; if they are bought and paid for by the scum?

Everyone watches everything but there is a partisan skew to sports. Should have mentioned Hotline had a survey last spring: Sports Viewers Largely Republican

Sounds to me that they are Both a Couple of Clowns.

They aren't. Blumenthal is one of the most dangerous people I've seen run for the Senate. The most dangerous. He leaves Dodd, Boxer, Durbin and the late Kennedy in the dust.

I do not look forward to saying "we told you so" to those pushing the "there is no difference between either of them". There is a difference between Blumenthal and even Democrats. He is a predator.

McMahon is no Olympia Snow or Susan Collins either. I say this having promoted Schiff to my RTC last fall. They had never heard of him and didn't include him in material they gave me to post on their website. (gave up on him when he did little to promote himself except write articles for the internet and ask for money).

Maybe Linda McMahon could get Mark “The Undertaker” Calloway to deliver a Tombstone Piledriver to Blumenthal!

what do you suppose the usual entrepreneurial return on 22 million is out there? Or are things so bad a senate seat is the best deal going?

If this communist onslaught is not stopped, 22 million won't be worth a loaf of bread, soon.

Very interesting. Most on there i don’t find counter intuitive but Grand Am dem,NASCAR pubbie? Drag racing pubbie,Monster trucks dem? Wrestling,as they mention,is mostly kids. That’s why its low voter turnout i guess.

That’s to bad that she is winning due to her money.

That isn't why she won. Simmons had an American Conservative Union rating of 52 his last year in the House. McCain had an ACU rating of 65 that year (2006). There was little enthusiasm for him. Schiff, as I mentioned above, didn't do much campaigning. Had he started in August, he would have had a shot. But he didn't even contact small town RTC's until the late winter and early spring.

What good are primaries; if they are bought and paid for by the scum?

She isn't scum. I don't know how conservative she is but she isn't a mealy-mouthed Lindsey Graham or Susan Collins. She's not a financial parasite and she won't prey on business as Blumenthal has his entire career. CT is not other states. Money isn't as important as it is NY, FL, TX, CA. Schiff could have hit two RTCs a day at almost no cost and picked up a lot of votes by simply meeting with a dozen or so activists in each town. Look at the Democrat primary for governor. Ned Lamont spent over $9 million of his own money on his campaign--the most spent ever for that office. Malloy spent $2.75 million in public money and won. Lamont had better name recognition as he is the one who forced Lieberman to run as an Indpendent.

Has it become so that only the godaweful rich can run? Here is a person spending 22 mil of her own cash to get a senate seat that pays what?

Are you saying she does not have the right to spend her money on what she wants? What if she wants to buy a 22 million dollar mansion, would you say "Has it become so that only the godaweful rich can buy a house? Here is a person spending 22 mil of her own cash to get a mansion". What business is it of yours how she spends her money?

Since spending $22 million of her fortune, McMahon beat out GOP contenders Peter Schiff (campaign slogan: "Schiff Happens" -- seriously) and former congressman and decorated Vietnam vet Rob Simmons, who'd been drafted by the party to run... Simmons suspended his cash-poor campaign in May, then re-entered a few weeks ago, showing up at Connecticut commuter hubs and passing out potholders, a sadly literal example that, for him, there was no issue "too hot to handle."
The only issue too hot to handle for him *may* be, where'd the new money come from?
What's the key difference between [McMahon] and Blumenthal? "He's clearly liberal big-government," she says. "I'm clearly conservative small-government. It's a real clear choice in that regard."

Unfortunately, once in office, RINOs reliably cave in to the Left’s agenda about 80 percent of the time, thus advancing the political fortunes of the left down the line. If more RINOs than conservatives account for Repub wins in 2010, we will have simply completed a circle and gotten precisely nowhere because a RINO majority is simply a liberal mob in expensive, pretty clothing.

I’m not saying it would be better if the Dem won; but I am saying the difference is marginal short-term and non-existent over the ong haul.

RINOs either lead to more RINOs, or more Dem wins down the line. At best they operate as an in-house ombudsman in the employ of the elitist Left. You don’t get anything POSITIVE from them and RINOs are NEVER going to reverse America’s deadly drift into Marxism.

I think everyone gets that she is not doing it for the money. What point are you trying to make?

But it is her cash and as long as she dont break any laws, its legal. I dont know.

What don't you know?

How do you think she was able to enter and campaign for this race?

One guess, money.

Buying your own house with your own money is not the same thing as running for public office.
