SAN FRANCISCO The federal judge who overturned California's same-sex marriage ban is set to rule Thursday on whether gay marriages should resume immediately in the state or await an appeals court's input.
Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker announced late Wednesday that he would issue his decision by noon on requests to impose a stay that would keep Proposition 8 in effect while its sponsors appeal his decision.

The announcement came after lawyers for gay couples, California Gov. Schwarzenegger and Attorney General Jerry Brown filed legal motions Friday asking that same-sex marriages be allowed to resume immediately.
Our soon-to-be-ex-governator always helping the majority of the people.
Wait.... they will be married by a bunch of bigoted racists?
Confused????
We know how it’s going to go. No use getting upset over it. It’s going to be a fact in all states before long. Since politicians really want the votes and contributions from this crowd, we are powerless to stop it.
That doesn’t make any sense.
We’re not powerless.
There is never a situation where, at some level, a political situation cannot be changed.
Gee, let me see if I can understand the really difficult job of legal reasoning? The judge takes it in the a$$ therefore gay marriage for everyone. PARTAY!!! Its always good to live in a republic where the culture, majority, and legal precedence are respected. Really makes you want to put your shoulder to the common wheel and push, don’t it?
Does anybody really doubt what this “thing” will rule?
Does anybody really doubt that we’re going to have to simply revolt at some point?
Read Jefferson.
In this case, the tree of liberty will have to be nourished by the blood of progressives - mark my words.
Now that’s SO special.....
I know.... neither did the Judge's ruling...
But we were told repeatedly after Lawrence v. Texas that there IS no homosexual agenda.
It doesn’t take much to figure how this gay judge is going to rule. I hope they had earlier brought a recusal motion.
*barf*
No, but there is a practical reality. And, the practical reality here is that the judge is virtually guaranteed NOT to stay his ruling, which will be affirmed by the nutty 9th and the duty Justice, Kennedy.
Moreover, when this is finally heard by the full Court, I don't think it's likely that Kennedy will reverse the District Court, and I think it's possible that even Roberts affirms the lower court ruling. You could have a 5-4 or even 6-3 or 7-2 decision, depending on how Alito comes down.
Where does that leave us - it leaves us exactly where we were a decade ago - in dire need of a Constitutional Amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman. The chances of such an Amendment passing - virtually zero. That's the practical reality.
Gee, I wonder which way he will swing.
So in other words, since rape is inevitable, we might as well just lie back and enjoy it? Hell's bells...it's no wonder our Republic is in dire straits, if no one's willing to fight for what's right anymore.
Powerless? MY A**! You're only powerless if you just throw up your arms and resign. But that's okay, some of us are willing to fight for our Republic and your rights...so you just go ahead and sit back, clicking the remote, fretting over how powerless you are. We'll do the heavy lifting for you.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I don’t see this activist judge allowing the ban to stand pending appeal.
He is dead set that homosexual behavior is a status not an act.
It is when they start suing the churches for religious discrimination to force the church to marry them.
Maybe someone will rise up then...
Plus, they are perverted and choose sin over the what is right in the eyes of God. They don't live to please God and do His will, they follow after their own lusts. Whatever the ‘ruling’ is it doesn't change the fact that God ordaines marriage between one man and one woman and He condemns homosexual sin. That's a FACT.
